i called my local game store about some psp games and they answered the phone stating that halo 3 was availible to be pre-ordered.  so naturally i made a bee line to get my name on a copy.  the guy working said that there wasn't a release date etched in stone yet, he had heard sometime in Nov.  But looking around on this forum and on X.S. i didnt find 1 rumor.....im wondering if anybody has any rumors/info about the release of halo3

FYE near me has been taking pre-orders for Halo3 for about 6 months now... frigging companies. Don't even bother pre-ordering anything, I pre-ordered Oblivion and STILL haven't got it yet...  dry.gif

Meanwhile I could have just walked into a Walmart at my leisure and picked up a copy....

All pre-ordering does is lock you in to buying it from a particular store. There are far more stores that DON'T take pre-orders then stores that do. Also the stores that don't take them tend to get about 5 times the stock, making it even easier to get your hands on it.

thanks for the intrest in this thread guys....but im really not looking for pre-order advice...i was more leaning to " has anyone heard anything about the release of halo 3?"


o and p.s.

my gamestore had MY pre-order for my 360 bumped up the list so i could get it on launch day
its nice when a store will return the "loyalty" favor though.....i dont think best buy would have done that for me

How'd they just "bump up" your preorder?  
Anyway, no REAL rumors abotu Halo 3, all just pure speculation.  Billy G said at first it would be released the same day as the PS3, but then Paul Allen said that Bungie will release when they are ready.
No one really knows anything at all.  It's been under pretty tight wraps.  I don't see it anytime soon, though.  Maybe summer of 2007 when people say the Halo movie is going to come out?

when the gamestore gets preorder they put them in order...the first one to pre-orded is the first one to get it
well, my friend pre-ordered his 360 before me and i got mine before him. ph34r.gif

i've said it before and i'll say it again, pre-ordering at game stop or eb is a complete waste and i'll never listen to anything any of those stores tell me ever again.  "we're the biggest retailer and we get more copies than anyone else and before everyone else" <------ complete BS.  the last 3 games i pre-ordered i ended up getting at Target before they had it and i went to game stop or eb and got my deposit back.

you make a very good point, offical news would be great, but rumors are more fun i think muhaha.gif
