I was talking to a friend of mine in health class about video games today. We are pretty good friends and he is the kind of person who is really nice and never lies. Well his dad is into video games and has some connections. He gets systems before they release and has every game ever. I asked if he got a 360 yet and he said yes. Then I asked what games he had. He said his dad had some demo disk and a pre-release of halo3. I obviously didn't believe this. But this isn't a kid that would lie just to get attention, or lie at all. I asked him if I could comeover sometime and play it, and he said that would be fine. Anyone know of any discs like this? I am still kind of skepticle....Obviously if/when I got to his house I'll snag some pics.

Sounds pretty strange, he might be confused with some other game. I guess you'll know for sure when you go over his house.

I don't buy it. I don't know what could convince it's real, either.
If this is for real, I am reminded of the idiot kid who had his picture taken with the 360 dev kit. Remeber him? His dad worked for M$.
Just the same, go over there and either sort him out or be the first with legit H3 news.

If you can get a picture of this, then that's AMAZING. I think he may be confusing it with another game, but if he isn't...

Haha, thanks catty. I'm going to try to head over this weekend and see what it is. I still don't believe it though, I just don't see how it's possible. But at the same time he's not the kind of kid to make up stories...He's one of those kids that is nice to everyone and couldn't harm a fly. Something isn't adding up...

Maybe it's Gears of War. I think IGN or Gamespot said they got a playable version of that and it looks kind of like what Halo 3 might look like to someone who isn't into Halo.

Check out assemblergames.com and you'll see it's happened before.

It might be a work in progress demo that only developers & testers have access to.

EDIT: If it's out there... oldengineer will definitely know about it.

i dunno man, people arent careless on the secret of things like that. your firends dad could have some very close connections. but if some thing like a pre-release dev's demo disk could slip into the public or even a screenshot could trouble bungie and M$ in unthinkable ways

They could do that. that doesnt mean they did. and update usually fixes mosts bugs of adds new features to some. in this case, Bungie or M$ doesnt expect it to be a major problem so they could leave it no mind

He cant be that stupid when DOA4 launches up it shows the team ninja logo and then it goes straight to a screen and says Dead Or Alive 4. I cant wait to see if this kid is lying or telling the truth, I find this very hard to believe though.

Whoah, Team Ninja did Halo, didn't they? C'mon, use common sense. If you switch the letters in Bungee, what do you get? Exactly. Nugeeb, which of course translated to French is Poitret Omevous, to Spanish is Chicle which translated to Japanese is Ninja. You guys need to work on your arguments, they're tired and I can disprove ANY of them.

Someone mentioned maybe a Gears of War preview? This seems more likely, since there is actually some stuff known about it. Either way, though, it seems that we could have some cool stuff to look at, even if it's not a finished product. I don't doubt that we have something "special," just doubt what special thing it is.
