Samba (smb) Problem
« on: January 09, 2004, 12:14:00 AM »

When I use the samba service in XBMC, or XBMP it works great and fast with MP3.
But I just won't play video files, the screen go's black for some seconds and then it go's back to the menu.

I tried more movie files and when I use relax it plays them so it's not some sort of codex problem...

I use windows 2000, with SP4.
In the directory I have shared for DivX, the xbox has exactly the same rights as in the MP3 dir, and the settings in the config file are also the same (exapt the path of the dir of course).

Do's someone know what causes this problem?

Greets,
Jesse

Does it just not play in XBMC? or also not om XBMP? what about permissions in the (different?) smb-shares?

I am using it with Linux and everything works like a charm.  <

No not in both players,
the permissions are good.., the xbox has full rights.
and the settings of my mp3 map are exactly the same as the settings of the map with my movies
