Bungie Weekly Update
« on: August 06, 2005, 12:01:00 PM »

Well I was reading through the Bungie.net weekly update like I do every week and I noticed that they are starting to talk about "Their Next Project" Telling how it's neering completion and that they are "proceeding apace." Any way here is a snippet.

Teaser: Work is proceeding apace on our next project, whatever that may be.

IP stuff is actually kind of busy too, with new action figures on the way, an as yet-unrevealed but AWESOME project nearing completion (more on that in a month or two)

Any who I can't wait till "A month or Two" and sorry if this is old news.

O Ya the article is here: http://bungie.net/Ne...aug05&p=4292692

This could be very interesting......but somehow i dont think its anything huge....I dont get the impression that they had enough time to create a new title for 360.

Actually, they started working on Halo 3 the same day they started working on Halo 2. Once they realized that H2 wasn't going to be released with everything they wanted in it in the window MS wanted it, they began cutting stuff out. Any of that could be the basis for H3.

And assuming H3 is on schedule for a summer/fall  2006 release, we should be seeing trailers, screenshots, or something by now. So this could very well be Halo 3-related, maybe even the official announcement.

On a lighter note, I am deeply, deeply in love with the Xbox 360. Part of it is just me being ready for a new system. Part of it is seeing that work of art they call an interface running in HD. I am not being a system whore – I am sure I will love the other next gen consoles, it's just that I can TOUCH the 360 now. Yum. I never thought I'd be so excited about a UI.

No real news on the movie front this week – looks like it's all lawyers and finance. Soon as we know a director, some actors, that kind of good stuff, we'll be sure to let you know.

Folks seem to be getting closer to finding "Hi Ben" with a couple of unconfirmed, but likely sounding solutions already popping up on forums. The High Impact Halo guys have been going NUTS trying to find it. I promise to tell you next week where it is. And again a reminder, it's NO BIG DEAL. Just a cute, hidden thing. This is not on the Skull scale of awesome, by any stretch of the imagination.

TOUCH NUTS NO BIG DEAL

Its on HIH... but it's funny...

MS wouldnt release Halo 3 on launch day, it would detract from all the other software that needs selling. They know it will sell like mad regardless of when it ships.

Halo 3 on launch, all the other games get ignored and stay on shelves, not many happy developers and you could possibly lose some support. MS is wise and for all you who want it at launch, youre nuts.

I remember reading one of the updates a couple weeks ago and there was a line about how good halo 2 looks on the 360.  I am leaning towards a Halo 2.5 or somthing like that.

I remember seeing a video about how Halo was orginally like a strategy game like starcraft and showed some footage of the game in motion. They said they were thinking of maybe doing a halo game in this style. It actually looked like a lotta fun but I'd rather it just be another fps.
