There is no DLC for PS3 and sadly no Home integration coming for GTA either.

I called Take Two & they didn't have info one way or the other on DLC for either system (though they could confirm DLC for 360 would be coming later this year) and did some web searching, and this is what I found:

QUOTE

An article in the latest version of PlayStation World Magazine states that the PS3 will indeed be getting downloadable content. This information comes straight from GTA 4's senior developer, Jeronimo Barrera.

XBOX360 version definetly...heres my reasons.

Yes i own both ps3 and 360....

My ps3 sits there and collect dust.....IT only runs when i put a blueray movie inside....I have cod4 for both systems.....both versions are good but..online play on the ps3 is awfull...Strangle hold.. sometimes there's a 20 min even more wait....Armored Core 4 samething.. while i can put in my gears of war game right now....yes an very old game.. and still find matchs and play... im a huge sony fan but ps3 sucks. im waiting for the good games to come out. ..You have to understand...what your use to on the xbox360 and then what you get from the ps3  is a major downgrade....For this so called NExt generation machine....your suppose to be able to do everything and more.....but thats very unlikely... And for the people that say DLC is not needed...can you honestly say that. i mean it add more replay value to the game....so you can go home and say yes. my 60$ purchase was worth it.. can you say the same if you buy the ps3 version?

The PS3 might get some extra content, it will not be anything compared to the 360. This is because MS paid for exclusive rights to this.

and where did the 360 hard drive install option go? I coulda sworn I read something about 360 owners being able to get some hard drive boost. hmmmm..... oh well, cant wait to get out of work and get back on it.

The option was there in the beta, but it has been removed. Not needed anyway. The game runs great without it.

im sure the game uses the hard drive to cache when it is present on the 360.  i got the 120gb hard drive for my 360 arcade.  and I swear mass effect runs worse with it, sometimes pausing for about 30 seconds in the menus and $%&.  is there a way to defrag this thing?  cuz i got a lot of downloaded stuffs.

Try reseting the 360 to defaults or deleting everything. Thats the only thing I can think of.

I don't know what's more surprising: your unique "worse" COD4 experience, or the fact that you joined in '03 and this is your FIRST post (seriously, of all things that have happened from '03 until '08, THIS was what motivated you to join the conversation).

Not that I'm saying you're fibbing or anything, just that my experience is very different. Gears of War matches are scarce lately (most I can find is 3, and never all good connections), and I know there's still over a million people playing it. When I search by specific rounds, different matches show, but still maximum of 3 (past 2 weeks). YMMV, indeed.

QUOTE(d-range @ Apr 28 2008, 11:30 AM) View Post

I think that's not really an 'excuse' for crappy online play. I don't really play online much anyway so I don't care that much, but saying matchmaking with friends is redundant because you can 'just all turn up at one house and play' is a bit stupid. It's not really an option for most people, it's not convenient, and there's not really a reason why the PS3 doesn't have friends lists etc. That said, the only game I tried playing online on my PS3 was Guitar Hero III and I can only say the online play sucks balls. It took me 10+ minutes for any game to start, there where virtually no other people and I was unable to connect to over half of the people present. If a simple game like Catan on the 360 works so well online, it's strange to see how terrible GH works, which (I think) is a direct consequence of the 360 having integrated libraries for online play, matchmaking etc, which makes stuff a lot easier for developers. It's definitely a BIG plus for the 360 over the PS3. Not even mentioning the crappy PS3 store and the problems I had downloading updates (slow, huge and fail a lot). I didn't manage to race online on GT5P either, but since I hate that game anyway (got fed up with the boring gameplay after only 4 hours) I've not tried that many times (only twice, in fact)
I've seen you make this comment before but I think this is a really bad argument as well. Only people who hacked their xbox 1 and put really big HD's in it wanted their games on the HD,  and I assume most of which where downloaded illegaly which makes copying to the HD a lot more interesting. Since people are not really hacking the PS3 or downloading 'backups' for it, and seeing that some PS3's have only 20GB HDs and most of them have only 40GB, with installation to HD becoming the standard, this is going to suck a lot for average Joe or Jane who just buys a game console and finds out the HD runs out after they have more than 5 games. Call it whatever you like, but as soon as I will have to start cleaning my HD when I want to switch games and wait another 15 minutes to reinstall, I'm going to be very, very annoyed.

It's not an excuse for crappy online play. I didn't say the online play was crappy. As for you not being able to get a match on GH, I can't comment I don't have it, but every game I play online which is nearly every game I have, I have never, repeat never had a problem finding a team or opponent. Are you actually suggesting there will be no online players for GTA 4?? Surely not.
Your comment on integrated libraries means nothing to me. Care to expand on what is different between matching up in COD 4 on the PS3 and on the 360?? Don't you have a list of your friends on your PS3?
Stupid to have friends round for a gaming session??? Not convenient?? You must have a different definition of friends than me. My friends are people I socialise with, most live fairly close, I get on with them all so having them round for  a beer and a game is not inconvenient or stupid. You ought to try it. Why would I want to play them online if I could simply phone them and say fancy coming round for a game and a chat and a laugh. It's good to interact with humans face to face, seems a bit impersonal doing it via the console.
As for your comment about all the people who backed up games onto the Xbox only liking it because they are all pirates, you must be speaking for your own experience because I did it with my genuine games to save the disc and better still to save having to get the disc out every time.
Oh and if you are worried about your HDD so  much fit a 250GB. Personally I have 17 games for the PS3 and I don't need a bigger HDD yet, that includes loading patches for Pro Evo as well.

This guy is a Playstation Fanboy. Well It make sense that most of the demographic of GTA players was PS2 because that was what it launched on first. Ps3 is graphically superior but online inferior. I give my hat off to M$ for creating an awesome online experience and a great controller biggrin.gif but not only that but give us exclusive DLC.

If you read it you can tell, who would forsake DLC for minor graphical differences and a Dual shock controller <== I fucking hate the thing.

if i can comment on this one, i have friends who are around over the summer (live in the same city), but during the fall and spring, they all go off to distant parts of the state (or other states) for college. online play lets us play together.

(also, i despise split screen on games other than guitar hero/ddr)

He did mention the only game he tried online with his PS3 was Guitar Hero 3. I believe he's under the impression that since there's no in-game XMB yet, that you can't send invites to friends, in which case I can lay that to rest. Every PS3 game I have with multiplayer (which is most of my library), allows you to invite your friends; you aren't required to use the XMB to invite them. When we do finally get the in-game XMB (fw 2.4; should be soon), it'll add the ability to send and read messages as well as chat with other people (that you're NOT playing with at that time) while you're in a game.

It seems the majority of bad things people attribute to the PS3 simply aren't true. I believe they think "if it doesn't do it exactly like the 360, it must not do it", which is just being ignorant.
