Democracy = freedom of speech... my post was removed for no apparent reason - enough said!

You do realize that freedom of speech does not apply to a private club right?
This site is a private member's only club (posting anyways) hence they have no obligation to allow you speak your mind, And beyond that freedom of speech is dead now, the politically correct left and right have seen to that.

uhh youre logic is flawed dont believe me?? 100% proof you cant deny go play a game offline get a achievement wait a day or 2 connect to live then go to xbox.com sign in and look or even on the 360 itself you will see the date for the achievement was the day you got it offline  tongue.gif

must be your special xbox then. every acheivement i have gotten offline has no date next to it.

the pirates are really showing there faces in this thread arnt they? quite a few bans going round.

quite frankly, they should be banned. im sure they would be trying to track posts from topics like these to people admitting to pirating the game, and matching the IP addresses to the IP address of an xbox that has played the game early. theres no justification to piracy, and it is breaking the LIVE TOS so they have every right to ban you. basically there is no if's or but's about it. if they catch you, you can bet your life that you will be banned.

i also suspect a few ISP's will be notified about people admitting to piracy in this thread. ISP's are already starting to monitor digital downloads through torrents and p2p services here in Australia, and if they log any illegal activity, you will get an immediate disconnection from the ISP's services, along with a bad reference to any other ISP you try to join. personally i think its great and will stop crap like piracy on the internet.

I love it when the self righteous people say, "Ban the pirates!" Ok guys, keep it real. We modded our systems to play backup copies of games we own and not pirated games. OK, then I'm stupid. I've seen guys with 70-80 games under their belt and they have like hardly any achievements. Let me guess, they bought the game "legitimately" and then backed it up, then only to not play it. Spare me. I'm not condoning piracy at all. Just don't throw stones fellow glass house dwellers.
I didn't mod my 360. There's no reason to do so unless I would want to play pirated games... I do not. My original xbox however became a multimedia power house, plus it allowed me to listen to music and watch videos over the internet as well as give me a console to play my old nintendo and super nintendo games on my tv once again. Think about what you're saying, because you DO NOT speak for everyone.

then you must of missed it on the news. the government is pushing ISP's to ban clients who download illegal content. after a quick google search using terms like 'ISP's monitoring traffic for illegal content' produced articles from the UK, and the USA so i guess its a world wide thing

if the xbox did stamp offline acheivements with a date, then they could be all over the place. you could set the date to the 20th of april, 2099, and then it would have to stamp the aceivement with that time. but due to that exact reason, MS decided not to date stamp offline acheivements. when ever you connect to live, the console receives the server time and adjusts it accordingly to your timezone settings, so the date and time is always correct

It's highly unlikely, seeing as so many have leaked through stores.

I know two people who work in a large UK store who simply pre-ordered, opened the case, taken home the disc & will scan & pay for the game using the case on Tuesday.

That will have happened all over the UK, US & wherever it's sold.

Uhm... how does telling you it HAS a date showe he's a pirate? If anything it's the opposite, since he'ss telling you WILL be detected due to there being a date...

Yeah that's a great idea, cause everyone has the same IP address on their xbox than the one on the computer from which they are at any given time posting comments... Oh and it never changes too.. You should look into some basic networking info dude...

Yeah.. that's it.. someone's gonna analyze all the posts and then track down all those user's sources, to find out their ISP, and then "report them" to "a few" ISPs...  I'm sure we'll see the end of it all real soon.... After all, it's only been what, aroud 25 years since we have pirated games?

What really amazes me is the "enthusiasm" with wich some people support "legality" on one side and  others "piracy" on the other...

Even being against it, and preferring originals,  I really think that everyone should realize that on matter how many posts you can put, it's not goig to go away... there will always be those who get illegal games, and those who don't that's just people's nature, just as there are those who steal and those who don't.  With that same criteria, there are many who who never pirate a game ,and yet have no problem doing drugs... (yeah even "harmless" ones). No one is perfect in all aspects, so what I mean is you should really look at yourself before judging others, and even if we want to judge them anyway, in the end it's useless, so why waste time with them instead of concentrating on talking aout the good things tha XS is really for??

Just my 2 cents....  pop.gif

Oh, why did you have to go and contradict yourself like that?  You were so high on that soapbox until that line.  In your book, I guess it's ok to pirate games as long as they're not current?

Unless you can plug in your old NES and SNES cartridges into your xbox, I'm missing something.

Why is everyone making a big deal about this? Halo 3 was leaked no one got banned. I know a mod on here who is playing GTA 4 ATM  tongue.gif  So I really think everyone should clam down. Also 99% of people who will pirate it will buy the game.

Just a thought... what if it's a deliberately "leaked release", a sort of poisoned GTA4?

Think about it... it looks like GTA4, it plays like GTA4 (at least for now, perhaps there are bits missing) but what if it sets flags in the gamesave or console that are unique to this "leaked release"?  Anyone playing this version would HAVE to have a modded console... down comes the ban hammer!

they did this with COD4, or well a non-retail verson got leaked first...
