Im using XBMC CVS 2003-12-11 with ccxgui.

Music is skipping and repeating alot (no problem with Relax)
Videos have really bad quality (they looked great with Relax).

Its alomst like a low bandwith problem, it feels and looks like i'm using a 56k moden instead of my switched 100MBPS lan

So the question of the day is why, anyone?

*bump*

Sorry, maybe i wasn't clear enough, with CCXStream (CCXGUI) and XBMC all my music has loud "bleeps" and skips randomly.

Also, the picture in movies is randomly decaying into rectangular blocks.

Again, i did not have theese problems with Relax, and have not changed my setup since.

Also, I tried adding chache size = 256 without any success.  <

I can't tell you why it is happening, but what I can tell you is that it is an issue with the ccxGUI, and not with ccxstream itself.  I have ccxstream set up to run as a service with the help of FireDaemon, and I do not experience any of the symptoms you are talking about.  I recently switched computers and tried out ccxGUI because I was feeling too lazy to set everything up again,  and i experienced all the same things that you are talking about.  So I guess all I can say is either switch back to relax or use ccxstream without using ccxGUI, at least until these issues get sorted out.  <

I experienced the same thing (loud blips in mp3s) in XBMP with the 1st ccx_gui that was released, but I just got 0.2.5 and XBMC 12-31-03 and there's absolutely no skipping and it's way easier to set up than relax, so I'm completely switched over now.

Try deleting everything (registry stuff too) and reinstall 0.2.5. If all goes well, it should work perfect.  <

0.2.6.0 seems alot better, sound is ok now, there is a delay before movies play and i got a crash after playing a second movie.

In other words, things are improving.     <

This may be a silly question, but how do you get streaming to work?

I downloaded ccxgui, dragged a folder into the window and it now shows as a share, started the server, loaded up xbmc, It cant find any shares :(

Do i have to edit any of the xml files?
If so, what do i put and where?

Cheers.  <

What do i need to put and where do i put it?
Does it just go at the end of the file?

Do i need to re-edit it every time i put a new share folder on?

Sorry for all the q's, but thanks :)  <
