Gears of War Hits 2mil In Worldwide Sales

I'm not surprised, its an excellent game!. It was the first game I went and bought when I got my 360 the other day. Totally addicted to it

Damn that means that more then 1/4 of all x360 owners bought it. I wonder how many systems sold you can attribute to Gears, if you look at november numbers its fairly low considering the huge amount of gears sales.

i was thinking the exact same thing but i believe that they are talking about it being the fastest selling exclusive xbox title that ISNT a 1st party title, GoW is considered a 2nd party title.

the inclusion of the word "exclusive" leads me to believe this because all 1st party titles are exclusives and shouldnt need to be labeled as such.

I believe they are talking specifically for xbox 360, halo 2 was for xbox.

You know with all the hype I was a little doubtful of GoW being all that, but after getting my boots messy in GoW I have to say that it is by far one of the best games I have ever played. I can't wait to see what Halo 3 will bring!!

The last time they said something about Gears being the biggest seller, they excluded Halo 2 since it was a sequel, maybe they did it again this time but was less clear about it.

You are exactly right, this article has made an error - Halo 2 sold 1.5 milllion pre-sale copies and overall sold 2.4 milllion copies in the first 24 hours on store shelves!

GOW is a great game, but I am having a really hard time "getting in to it" - definitely not as addictive as the Halo series.

yea i must agree i cant "get into it" like i did halo 1 and 2, i mean i beat both of thoes game the first day i had them, gears of war i have to play in sittings, it could be the fact that im older now and have a job but i dont think thats it but dont get me wrong gears of war kicks a$$
