i have a samsung xbox drive. maybe i just it was just a bug with the release of xbmc i got

The Samsung drives cannot read 99% of CDR brands.

I've modded about 50 Xboxes and even the Samsung drives can only read about 3 brands of CDR (In Australia: X-media, Magmedia, and 'old' Princos).  <

'old' Princos

... and by 'old' Princos I mean Princo CDRs manufactured between 1998 and 2002.

Since Princo's 'CD royalty lawsuit' issues (LOL) they have substantially cut costs and in so doing reduced the quality of all of their media (i.e. do not buy any 2003/2004 manufactured Princo media or you will regret it).  <

I haven't had any problems with divx yet....the only thng that I have trouble with is mov. files. The only thing I can think of is maybe try another brand of disk. Either that or maybe goto setting and switch your 'put file to cache' setting to off....sometimes it get confused when it sits there for so long. I don't know why,but it always used to screw up for me,until I switched it off. But try the other media first.
