Gow Commercial Song
« on: November 26, 2006, 01:21:00 AM »

Hey, i just saw the GoW commercial (not sure if there is more than one or not though) and was wondering if anybody could tell me the name of the song that is in it.
i got some of the words..
"...All around me are familiar faces, warn out places, worn out faces, on my head i want to drown my soul, no tomorrow, no tomorrow..."
im not sure if those are the exact words cause it was kinda hard to hear  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Song is called "Mad World" covered by Gary Jules from some eighties band.  Look for it on the Donnie Darko soundtrack, it's up on torrents if you know where to look.  Sticks in your head doesn't it  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

dude thanks so much. as soon as i heard it i liked it.

Dont you love it when in game commercials they add a slow kinda dramatic feeling song to it...it makes it so much better IMO.

EDIT: spelling (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I saw the whole comercial for the first time at the movie theatre. It gave me the chills, the music was perfect for it. I looked the girl i was with and said "thats the game i played for 5hrs today." She looked at me like i was crazy.

The original is by Tears of Fear, which is definitely worth listening to.

The alternate version of Gary Jules' cover is awesome, too.

Too bad most people only know about this song because of the Gears of War commercial. :-/

Tears for Fears was an awesome band!  The music of the 80's was awesome itself! biggrin.gif  The newer version of Mad World is pretty good as well, though the original is my favorite.

Did you even read the replies in this thread? Its a song called Mad World by Tears for Fears covered by Gary Jules and Michael Andrews specifically for the movie Donnie Darko. Although the person singing does sound like Michael Stipe of REM it is most certianly not him.
