Come on now, we all should know this, every console's games get technologically better 2-3yrs down the road....that's when developers start whispering their sweet nothings into the hardware tongue.gif ...look at the differences in the splinter cells on xbox1....hell, I bet Doom3 couldn't be imagined on xbox1 back in '01.

to everyone worrying about how much more the 360 has to give i have said this before and i say it again way back in the days of the snes and genesis they were still makin better looking games in the 5th year of the consoles life, and those were MUCH simpler to work with one cpu 1  gpu now we have systems with 3 cores trust me 360 and ps3 games will look better and better every year i wouldnt be suprised if ps3 and 360 were still not maxed out after 5 years   pop.gif

seems like contradictory statements...first, GOW pushes the 360 to its limits and was the main reason behind the RAM increase decision and now they are just scratching the surface with gameplay...yep...definitely just a bunch of PR BS...

i agree that GOW is taking some time to grow on me, but maybe that is because I have played so much Halo over the years and GOW is just different for me...regardless, it is very beautiful to say the least

I have a HDTV Sony Wega XBR TV (picture tube) that I am playing it at 1080i Composite Cables when I am in the living room.

I truly sincerely hope you are not using the composite cables, did you mean component cables? If you are using the composite even the hd-dvd movies will look like garbage. It really does make a huge difference.

I'm sure he mistyped, but even if he didn't he still has the 24" LCD via VGA that he plays on.

Here's my bit on the game. Pushing the console to its limits just means... using close to 100% of system resources. It does not necessarily have anything to do with graphics or whatever. It could easily be true that the game does indeed use 100% of the 360's power.... but that doesn't necessarily mean much.

It's funny how easily people buy into this crap. Marketing is just marketing, it doesn't really mean much. If they really meant "game won't get better than this", then they would probably just say so. So please, people, try to decipher this stuff before you simply assume that it actually means anything.

Personally, I just hate all business majors, so I'm a bit jaded when it comes to them spewing refined hogwash at me and calling it club soda..... That was.... I don't know what compelled me to write that, but whatever.

Anyway, point being, prose like that don't mean a thing, so once again, PLEASE, PLEASE try to think about what the advertisers are ACTUALLY telling you, rather than what it merely implies. That's one of my gripes on society, things move faster and faster, and you are forced to speak implicitly.

Remember kids, when we assume, we make an ASS out of U and ME.

End rant.

I find the (article) statements quite right.
We all know that launch games used very few of the total machine power.
Three processors are a lot of juice and most programmers just put on sleep the extra ones, now someone comes out with a slightly more optimized game engine and everybody discover "the power of X360".
Right, they are just scratching the surface, they have three CPU, they could use one just for physics if they wish, and so on.
The bad news is that they needed one year to bring out the game.

Did you notice that they only named specific details that could be enhanced, missing things like more polygons, more realistic shaders etc. It seems that they have hit bounderies on those.

As to Gears of War, i just played it through on 2nd difficulty level in coop as i would suggest to every other more casual shooter player. I didn't really like it in the beginnig, but my opinion has changed while progressing and getting better in the game's playing physics. In my opinion it is the best "next generation" game to date. It just feels much rounder than most other next gen games and does even have a decent playtime (although i had prefered a longer act 5). Didn't have chance to try multiplayer yet, though.
