Ok I finally picked up a copy of Gears of War (actually 2 copies 1 for me and a buddy...) Played it for about 2 hours and really really dislike it, to many things to name.

I am trading a buddy for one of his games... I tried to give it a fair shot. Oh well, to each it's own.

No flaming, just my opinion of a game that everyone was waiting for and I myself really wanted to LOVE...

i can see how you feel like that. but personally i love it. its not as fast paced as some games. but i still love it.

Ok, you need to at least finish the 1st act! Lol AWESOME cutscene for ya if you do. Just sludge through it till that part and then trade it.

Oh damnit what did I miss. I wanted to finish the 1st act but my friend wanted to run home with his copy... and I wasn't going to open mine.

I will rent it from Block buster when they receive it... I just couldn't stand paying 64 dollars for this title

its awesome, play it co-op it makes it so much more fun, the game becomes much more dynamic

also, the graphics might not be jaw dropping but the amount of stuff on the screen is ridiculous and the almost non-existent load times

I am playing on Hardcore and I love it...for those who dislike it after 2 hours you are not giving it a fair shake...did you even get into the awesome cover system? What difficulty are you playing at? I am not going to say my opinion is better then yours, but you did not give ANY reason why you disliked it...

I think games like this that challenge the way we play can cause some to dislike it as first, but honestly when you get the way it is supposed to be played (ie not run and gun) you will see the masterpiece that it is...

There is no other game out there even on the same level and this is above and beyond the GOTY imo...

Give some reasons for your dislike first of all. I played CoOp on Live with a friend for 3 hours last night, and we were both stunned by this game. Best graphics EVER on a console, amazing gameplay and the atmosphere is perfect. Nothing we've played matches this game. Best CoOp I've ever seen. How about shitting your pants the first time you see the Berserker!! WOW! GOTY..and not even close, that's my opinion.

Berserker scared the shit out of me, really got my heart pumping, guess it was in the atmosphere, had a dark room, loud volume . . .

i think the game is awsome. only dislike so far is how rediculously fake the blood looks. but thats not a big deal

I agree its a great game, some of the controls don't work as well as they should though - like its nearly impossible to take cover if you're standing right next to an object, you have to back up and look straight at it before holding the cover button down. Second, sometimes coming out of cover doesn't work like it should, say when there's an enemy diving over your cover to pound you into the ground .....

Other than these though, I REALLY enjoy this game

I do agree with your statement regarding the control/cover scheme. There were some frantic moments last night playing coop, where we had difficulty gaining cover unless, like you stated, you look at the cover head on, which during a firefight causes jaws to clench and nerves to fray!

If you guys aren't impressed by the graphics then i'm sorry but your going to regret ever buying the 360
Gamespot.com (everyone knows they are hard on reviews) gave it a 9.6 and stated this is the BEST LOOKING xbox 360 game period. So if your not impressed then I think your going to be VERY disappointed this GEN
