Epic announced in their press release that 'Gears of War' will be released on November 12th, that's just 5 days before the release of the PlayStation 3 in the US on Nov. 17th. In Europe it'll be released on Nov 17th, the same day as the PS3 launch in the EU: REDMOND, Wash. -- Aug. 3, 2006 -- Since the first frightening images appeared a little over a year ago, gamers worldwide have felt the ominous rumblings of something approaching that defies all convention. Hmmm maybe we'll see some package deals too!? One can only hope... This could be the game that makes the 360 worth buying.

October would have been great, luckily I'm a hockey addict and will be pretty tied up with NHL 07 and/or 2K7 for a looong time.

I know a few friends who are waiting for this game before buying an Xbox 360.

This is great news!
I get the feeling that the game was ready to go for an early October release but M$ purposely pushed the release date back to coincide with the PS3 launch.
Releasing the game a few days before the PS3 launches is a great move on M$ behalf.

But....
Does this give Epic enough time to finish a demo before the game releases?
That would be phuckin huge!

This game better be beyond good.  anyone remembers "brute force"? one of the most hyped xbox games.  Turned out to be an ok game.  That what "GOW" reminds me of.

This will be the first Xbox 360 game that I buy (besides the arcade stuff).  Looks good.  Glad to finally have a release day.  Good timing too for an exclusive title!
