Why would they go to the trouble of giving a beta tester box art and manual?  Plus the game release is so far out this just doesn't make sense.  I smell fish.

Design is nice and simple though.  I like it.

It is missing the Only on Xbox part as well.  Nice try.

Or maybe the game release is not that far off...has epic had their E3 event yet? Maybe they'll give a release date for the game at that time...

My guess is they took an picture of an existing game and simply photo-chopped the gears logo on there... disc too it wouldn't be that hard. Heck I could do it and I'm sure most of the guys over in the Graphics forum could do an even better job.

The dead give away is the horribly rendered reflection on the left side of the case in the first picture.

Also notice towards the top you can see it has a wrapper on it, obviously there is no wrapper in the 2nd picture.

Finally, running an IP trace, this guy doesn't seem to come from a location where I imagine there are too many beta testers or developers..  rolleyes.gif

oh yeah one more thing... IIRC ESRB standards state that the raiting goes in the lower left... not the lower right wink.gif

not sure if im seeing it right, but also, under the bottom latch for the instruction manual, it looks like behind the plastic there was a "T" for teen... i might just be seeing it wrong.

One more thing to add to the piling evidence:

IPB Image

The part thats circled, if the case is opac (sp?), then why the hell is there a T in the M????

EDIT: Damn you ILLusions0fGrander!!! lol

Right...

I'm at work, son. My boss was out for lunch so I made a little diddy. Just having a little fun with fellow 360 fans.  Sorry for spicing up the afternoon.  If I'm going to get ripped on from dudes like you, trust me... I won't be coming back anytime soon...  Yeah yeah... 'good we don't want you.'   I can see it now.

You should just be proud you didn't gag on it like the other meatballs did.

Bomb dropper, you are a photoshop GOD! I don't care if it is fake, it still freaking sweet. I would love to take it to like gamestop and ask if you could trade it in  tongue.gif  They would all be like "WTF!?!?!?!!1111 NO WAY!?!?!111! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" Then you can belike, you know what, I change my mind; and walk out  biggrin.gif PS How did you do the DVD?

i doubt gamestop would care or believe you if u brought in a printed piece of paper with a gears of war game on it.

Our keen-eyed friend pointed out the most obvious fault but here's more.

- The gears of war text doesnt bend like the edge of the 360 graphic/line on the pamflet. The pamflet has no reflection on the curve on its back,

-The reflection on the plastic wrapped box is faked,

-The deep black of the disc lacks reflections and unless the ceiling is deep black it should have some kind of reflection,

-Most obvious though is the mature logo on the disc is PURE WHITE (burnt through / 255/255/255) but any other white graphical element in the picture is not (camera auto contrast doing its job correctly), only the peaks of the flash reflections in the plastic are equally white. Unless the mature logo is made of reflective material it shouldnt be that white, and even then it lacks lens flare around its edges.

-Same for the mature logo on the box front, pure white vs dark white for actual photograph element upper 360 graphic/line.

Aw, nice try detective.  Try, the burn tool.

Secondly, the top box reflection isn't a full render.  That's from the original picture I found.  It's just blown out and blurred.  Again, nice try.

Like I said before, that whole mockup is a joke.  Right after I posted I slapped myself about the 'only on' tag.  It's overall horrible, I'm shocked as many people bit as they did.  Although honestly, the DVD didn't come out half bad.  Could use some more burn on the white logos on it.

Oh well, something to talk about.

It came from this...

How about the talentless faker use the burn tool on the mature logo. And how about explaining why blacks are universally 0/0/0 on the supposedly faked portions. Its rarely an auto contrast flattens EVERY pixel of black in an image.

And for the NEXT time he fakes an image, use the levels tool and drag both blacks and whites so they burn through.. that way its harder to spot the stupid cut and pasted elements. Also adjust output levels to make it look less contrasted again.

You are attacking me then attacking the image? Pick a side.
