Im sure its easier to drive with the controller but ive only used the MS Wheel and its perfect. As realistic as a video game can get. Forza 2 + MS Wheel = Hours of fun!

the wheel is quite a bit harder to get used to, but i love the feeling of being more immersed in the game.. add a sweet racing cockpit and it feels pretty real

The wheel does take a little time to get used to. BUT, it is much much more realistic. The cars FEEL like real cars. I wouldn't go back. You feel every bump, burnout, skid and bang.

When you go off the track with one or two wheels onto grass, you feel it. When you go over one of the side bumpers you feel it. You learn how driving each of the types of cars (FW, RWD, AWD) is incredibly different. It just feels right.

The thing is you have to be willing to race the way you should in real life. Much less forgiving than the controller.

I love using the wheel for Forza 2, it also works very well with PGR2, however I'm not such a fan of it with DiRT. I've even played with the settings for it and it still seems way too twitchy in that game (demo). Oh well, guess I'll just have to play that one with the controller. (unless they fix something between now and release in the next two weeks. sad.gif

I made it a point to not play the game with the controller so i wouldnt notice a difference. All i know is the wheel and its extremely realistic.

The wheel itself is awesome Great build and quality.  The pedals are way to steep of an angle and move around very easily - I wear a size 11 shoe and my feet don't fit in the rig properly.  If you set your wheel up to a very sturdy table and screwed the pedals into the floor it might be ok but I personally don't like it enough to bother (not only that I'm not screwing shit into my hardwood floors to play a game).  I'm so used to playing with the controller its just weird to me and nowhere near as responsive.  I would stay away if your used to playing with a pad.
