play online viewer is just squares solution to xbox live, essentially

since you need not have xbox live in order to play online with any play online based games (which are only ffxi and that dumb card game)

i didnt think so either, and ive been on FFXI and had xbox live disconnect, but i think to initially get onto play online, you may have to be signed in to xbox live... could be wrong though

xbox live isnt required to play MMOs, since they charge their own fees and run on their own servers.
Maybe xbl silver, but gold isnt a requirement (though that may be different for ffxi while its in the demo phase)

Speaking of which...how are so many people playing Final Fantisy XI anyways?  Is there an open beta testing going on that anyone can be part of or what?  I've seen atlest 4 people who have been testers (or atleast playing the "Online Viewer"). I guess I could just be really lucky but I doubt it.

The FFXI demo came out in oxm360 a while ago.

Its the name of the program that is displayed in your played games list when you play the FFXI demo

playonline isnt a solution not use xbox live, as it was used with the pc version as well... its just used w/ xbox version as well to keep it the same
