Does anyone know how much of the 360s power this game is using?
Just wondering when we'll get the first game to use all 3 cores
someone correct me if im wrong but there is never a really accurate way to judge how much a game is pushing the system. just like some launch titles, devs can claim that their game in development will harness the true/full power of the system but with every new generation of development tools and more time with the hardware developers always find new and improved ways to pushing the system, sometimes making the system do things it wasnt built to do. as for my guess, the game isnt pushing the hardware
THAT hard really, a lot of effects arent really being used in the game, with only two main characters on the screen its easy to direct a lot of resources to just the characters, the backgrounds (while looking good) are pretty static with little to no movement and the only interaction there is is with the ropes, and the bulk of the impressive visuals comes mainly from the textures (IMO) which is not hard to keep at a high detail level considering how small the play area is.
we already are playing games that use all 3 cores. hell with a simple game like geometry wars using all 3 cores i highly doubt that there is any game that doesnt use 3 cores. the big question is when are we going to see more games that are specifically designed and developed to take advantage of multi-core/thread technology, games like condemned and PGR3 already are built for multi-core use but there is A LOT of room for improvement from an optimization and performance stand-point.
