everyones making a bg deal like this is final.

its a friggin demo where the full game wont be finished until later 2006.  sheesh.

this has got to be the most amazing ever.  its like playing a real cg movie.  The punches were a bit slow and the repays were kinda shot, but hey.  If they can stick with this through the rest of development without and details being left out, then im all for it.  Im not a boxing fan, but imma definately play around with this for a while.

looks astonishing on my hdtv.

people should note that this is NOT an example of how all characters will look in the future. In this game there are 2 characters on screen and NOT a lot else... ever.... so they can and will dedicate much of the GPU/CPU to those 2 characters....

just thought I'd mentioned this and maybe bring a few light headed people back down to earth.

This game is sweet, my friend told me about it last night so i hurried and downloaded it.  Graphics are GREAT!!!!  The punches do seem a little weak and i hope they have some "finishing movies" or something in the final version.  Even though the game is sweet looking, this will prolly just be a rental game for me.

not downplaying anything you said but isnt that just commen sense?  of course with smaller areas and very few people they can manage the resources of the GPU/CPU into a very beautiful scene but that doesnt mean that the game still isnt a gorgeous game in general.  thats the same reason to why many fighting games are the best examples of what a system can do graphically (visually speaking) that is also why you cant compare a fighting game to a vast open area game because the resources of a game like morrowind is spread throughout the huge area as apposed to just a small arena.  also regardless of any factors like resource management, i think its safe to assume that no matter how good this game looks, the 360 is capable of better then this and we will see games far more graphically impressive then this (technically speaking not just visually).  just saying because those people who need to be dragged back down to earth not knowing what you stated should stop playing games now.

still the game looks impressive (especially for an EA title).

maybe thats the release date for the ps3 version as it was stated a while ago that the 360 version would be released before the ps3 version having everything the ps3 will have with the addition of online play.

Anyways, it's not that slow either. Some of you cats just haven't figured out how to chain combos together.
My only disappointment with the game? 30 fps.

Two questions:

1. I'm not familiar with the Fight Night games, can you give an example of how to chain a combo?

2. How can you tell the game runs at 30 fps?

Just my opinion but if anyone thinks the punches are to weak maybe your only punching into blocks. If you don't have a clear shot on the guy then it will be a weak looking punch. If you hit skin then you will hit hard. Also the more combos you hit the harder your punches will get. On top of that if your just punching all the time and not landing or always trying to block or bob & weave when you don't have to then your going to become tired and your punches will be a lot weaker (the announcer even tells you this).  There are gameplay elements in this demo that are not explained because its simple a demo but there is defenitly a fatigue mechanism to this and it WILL make your punches weak. If you want to hit hard you got to be pretty decent. I would say the hardest hits are off of counter moves. Just block your opponents punch and it throws him off balance and slows him down leaving you time to wind up and really lay into him. I usually hit him with a hook off the counter and then a power punch. I'm just offering this to anyone who thinks the punches are weak because I personally think when I actually use skill to fight the punches are real strong and it looks like I'm almost going to knock someone out of the ring. Also Jones is alot better at counters and has a much faster power punch but Hopkins hits a lot harder. Just my 2 cents.

I noticed this as well... Jones is lightning fast during the first round... but the more you whip out punches in combos and keep mashin the buttons, the slower he responds.  Great addition to the game with a fatigue mechanism... in earlier games, it wasn't nearly this good.

Kernal, don't take offense man but your nuts. Ofcourse you can state your opinion, and we can comment on your opinion, and so on. You can tell me to fuck off for commenting on your opinion, so be it smile.gif

If you dont think the detail that went into their faces is impressive, well youre going to be one unhappy gamer during this next gen. What else do you expect graphics wise? Damn, and I thought I was a disgruntled graphics whore. I saw the demo for 2 minutes and was amazed. I wont buy the game as I dont like boxing, and its EA..but come on, its fuggin impressive for a first gen 360 title.

I'd say this to anyone that wasnt impressed, so dont take it 2 personal.

Just out of curiosity, what games do you find impressive on 360? that are currently out, or due out?

COD2 and PDZ impress me

I'm not saying the graphics are bad, they are good, maybe I am a graphics whore, I want more for my money

In another note, what is this crap M$ gonna sell a HD DVD for 360 external add-on? so I got to have an external srive, thats not going to look pretty in the entertainment unit
