Hard Drive Problem Still Help!
« on: April 09, 2005, 12:57:00 AM »

I used config magic and unlocked my hd, power went out in the house and now I can't boot my xbox. Ok, so I looked around all day and found some software to use on my unlocked hard drive. I backed up my hd a few days ago to dvd, copied my hdd key. I used some software called atapwd, hdunlock, hdlock. I used the key I had backed up from dvd, and then checked it again with atapwd to verify it was successfully locked. Things looked good, I was very confident at this point, but still I get the "xbox needs service screen". No error code, no nothing just the red light, and screen. anyone offer some help. PLEASE I NEED HELP!!! I do not want to have to buy another xbox, or motherboard/hdd combo. I have a lot of stuff on it. Any help at all, any would be tremendously appreciated. Thank you and sorry for the long explanation. Thank you again in advance.

You shouldn't have used the hdlock tools, those are obsolete and have a huge chance of f... eeuh messing things up.

First of all make sure your HDD is unlocked and that the locking is disabled.

Do you still have your eeprom.bin? You could build a bootable CD with XboxHDM
with your eeprom embedded, that way your always sure that the code is correct (free from human typo errors).
