Those Of You Who Got Doa4..how About A Small Review

This is not only the best DOA yet, but it is up there with the best fighters period. The tweaks Itagaki made created a more balanced game that is incredibly fun and deep at the same time. I am however disapointed in the endings for the girls...while I am all for fan service save it for DOAX and give us some kick ass endings like Ryu, Elliot, Hayate and Ayane...none of this Kasumi, Hitomi, Lei Fang stuff...

I think the IGN review was pretty accurate overall

I do agree with a lot of the comments here about laggy online play

Also there isn't very many people on there yet, I took me 15 minutes the other day to find more than 2 games to join  sad.gif

Also i ended up in one room where there were obviously a group of friends letting each other win (probably for the 50 wins in a row or something). about five of them were taking turns just standing there letting one guy win... definitely not cool  dry.gif

I also agree with the story line and ending comments. The Story is easly the best any DOA game has ever had, but that's not much of an accomplishment considering DOA typically has pretty lame/non-existant stories. I would have liked to see something more substantial as opposed to "random encounters" and "fan service" as other's have said. Then again, I bought the game because of the gameplay and beautiful graphics, not the story. If you're looking for a good story go buy Condemned.

As for the comment about the graphics not being much of an improvment... they definitely are

The character models look like china dolls but that's art direction not bad graphics.  Itagaki's decision; The characters are supposed to look like they're from a 3D anime not real life. The hair and clothings the characters wear are just as detailed as the backgrounds.

The real difference in the graphics are the details. Jean pockets are actually modeled instead of painted on with a texture, Fur outfits (like GenFu's) have actual fur (think monster's inc) instead of being flat and lifeless. and hair moves and bounces naturally to the character's movements instead of always being blown back like in past DOAs or other fighters.

When I got DOA3 on Xbox my first impression was that it didn't look that much better than DOA2 on my DC. That is until I went back and played DOA2 on my DC and realized how much better it actually looked. My memory of the game made it seem better then it actually was. When I popped in DOA4 on the 360 it was noticeably better looking then DOA3, I didn't even have to think about it.

Like I said the difference is in the details, the character models have been near perfection since DOA2 (it's not that hard to make 3D anime looking characters). Don't expect them to ever look more life EVER now or 10 years from now.

for the most part I agree with the IGN review (which is rare) especially on the points of gameplay etc. so no use repeating what they already said. beerchug.gif
