I usually don't preorder games but, I've really been looking forward to this and was told I should preorder because of the high demand.  Do you really think that it's nessasary?

dude, no need to preorder unless if there is a limited edition version. They (Ebgames or wutever) just want to hype uneccesary things to get sales.

maybe in your area, not here. There will be hundreds per store. People are saying COD 2 and others are scarce already...bullshit. Stores here have hundreds available.

You honestly think that all stores in your area, be it a game store or a walmart or target, will ALL sell out of a game like DOA 4? lol

Go preorder it, fall for the hype  biggrin.gif

Don't pre-order.

They can EASILY stamp THOUSANDS of disks an hour. But they CANNOT make thousands of x360's in one hour.

I didnt preorder a 360, but I still got one  biggrin.gif
And its better not to preorder since you can just go to any store around and pick one up, not worrying about the preorder you put down at the store that didnt have it.

There is absolutely no point in preordering x360 games at this point, most people don't have the console yet.  The games are not in short supply, it's the consoles that are.  Plus, I doubt DOA4 is going to be super huge selling game.  It doesn't hurt to preorder though.  I will buy this game if the reviews are good.

Preordering is fine...

the thread starter asked if we felt it was "necessary"

The answer is No.

Games like Halo or Grand Theft Auto or whatever... the big sellers, you should preorder, because those games sales millions within days.  But DOA4, it's not necessary.  Especially, since 360 is a brand new console, and only about 300,000 people have it, where will be plenty of extra copies of DOA4 to go around.

I preordered it at EB ONLY beacause you get a free DOA4 calendar with preorder

i have mine preordered at EB and i didnt get a calender  uhh.gif  do you know if that is a nationwide promotion?

and i agree with the majority of people here, regardless IF it sells out at one store there is nothing to say that every other store in any area will have it.  pre-ordering between consoles and games is far different since its way easier to manufacture a disk as apposed to an entire system.  if there is a promo like the calendar or a t-shirt then i say preorder, if no then just wait.  the main reason i pre-order is because its easier on my wallet, i can walk in to the EB and drop $5-$10 every couple of weeks rather then walking in and dropping $50 all at once.
