Dvd Movies Off Hard Drive
« on: March 24, 2005, 05:44:00 AM »

Hi All.

1.6 Xbox. Xenium Ice Modchip. Using latest XBMC as default dash. Don't know if you need that info or not.

Anyway the other night I played a DVD movie off an IMG file, using XBMC. I just went into my videos, clicked it, and it played. Now I have an ISO dvd image on the harddrive and I can't get that to play. The img dvd didn't have a menu, so I don't know if that is it, but when I click the ISO the xbox just sits there for a bit and then gives me back control, nothing happens.

I am just wondering if software exists that can play a dvd off the xbox itself or if I will have to burn the dvd to watch it.

Thanks in advance. Sorry to bother anyone. <

Check the ISO on a PC make sure it isn't corrupted .. use something like alcohol 120% or Daemon toolz to mount it (this way you don't have to burn it to a disk). Chances are it won't play on the PC either if it doesn't play in xbmc. I've had no problem with bin/cue Cd/dvd images nor any issues w/ .iso format dvds either. <
