Just a crappy disk most likely.
If your 360 does this with other discs... then I think it might be time to give MS a call, especially if you are still under warranty.

Happends the same to me twice.

It happpened time ago. Then, it started to play tha white screen with any game, and, finally, it did not said anything with any game. I called the Support assistance phone and they gave me a ticket to send it to germany via UPS.

I copied the S/N, manufacturing date and any oder unique number, and when it came back, they send me a new one.

I was so happy, that I connect it to Live and start trying my games. It was all great until I tried Call of Duty 2. Same problem. That horrible white screen cabe back to me. Tried Prey and same screen. Turned it off completly and Prey loaded great. Tried Call of Duty 2 without shutting down and white screen again.

It also works fine when I cold boot with disc in but not when putting disc in after boot.

Regards from Spain

Please Put This Disc In An Xbox 360 Console?

This topic is old, but this is new to me. I purchased a second hand collectors edition of Lost Planet from my local. I got them to load up single player on the stores console, it worked perfect. Get home and I get the "Please put disc in a xbox 360 console" as stated by an xbox 360 console. So I tried again and again until finally I worked out a quick fix that will wear out the DVD eject mechanisms twice as fast:
1. Put disc in and wait for the white screen of xbox 360 mayhem.
2. Eject disc and as soon as it pops out re-inject with the eject button.
3. Game should load, hopefully.
4. (optional) Remove DVD drive, throw in a fire after pissing on it, then curse microsoft for selling you a crap DVD drive when others who paid the same get different brand and better read ability.

Hope this helps anyone else having this problem. I do think the problem relates to poor disc surface (even slight scratches) and the poor read ability of laser in the DVD drive, which may be one of 3 (or more) brands of drive. That store console I mentioned, obviouly has a decent drive in it.

When I rang the store they said they would clean the disc and see if loads in their Xbox 360, which I already know it does without problems. They said they would not refund because they have the opinion that I may have pirated the game. Well if I had not have gotten it to work using the method mentioned above, I would have scrathed it with a nail, ran over it a couple of times, shat in the dvd case and then got them to load it on their console!

just fyi, the problem of the "to play this disc, put it in an xbox 360" error is not your discs, or your drives. It lies with in the console itself. If you were to place a game disc in a DVD player, you'd get the same msg. If you turn off the auto start features, you'll notice after reading the disc, it has the option to play the DVD, but doesn't load the game background. Its stuck in DVD mode and I have yet to figure out how to fix it. You can play DVD's all day long. You can't play game discs at all. I have a second xbox and I swapped a properly working drive into the console that was broke. Same problem. Its not the drive, not the discs. Only thing left is the onboard software in the console. Thats all I have for you. Trying to find out how to reset the xbox to include the firmware. Strip it as if it came from the store. O, its not the harddrive or the update either. I had to add a harddrive to do the update and the update did nothing for the problem. Good luck in with this problem and reply if you find a solution....

Peace out
