The COD2 patch is only for the single Player campaign to address saving issues. WTF about multiplayer online? I tried for 1/2hr to play COD2 online last night and then gave up. "Unable to join session" Over and over.. I have about had it with this game (back to PDZ for now) I am starting to regret ever buying COD2 (sure the single player was good, but I never buy games that do not have multiplayer for replay value. I could have rented this game $5 for 4 day rental (would have cost me $10 for 8 days and finsished it. not $69 CAD
Call of Duty 2 Patch is Live
Activision fixes CoD2's single player save problem.

February 1, 2006 - The long-awaited Call of Duty 2 patch is finally live, though it's fairly limited in its scope. Activision made an official comment regarding the patch. "Infinity Ward and Activision have issued a Title Update that addresses the player progression loss issues associated with Call of Duty 2 on the Xbox 360. The team is continuing to work on additional updates and we will keep you posted," they said. So, today's patch addresses only the single player save issues people had been experiencing. The save problem was previously causing single player campaigns to be unintentionally overwritten.
Activision obviously left the door wide open for the possibility of more updates in the future. In fact, they stated outright that they're continuing to work on more fixes. Will these future updates include an expanded and more detailed online interface? We'll have to wait for the official word.
In terms of how you install the patch, just make sure you're signed into Xbox Live and load up Call of Duty 2. As you're watching the opening cinematic a blade will pop up on the right side of the screen telling you an update is available. Just accept and there will be a brief downloading period. Afterwards, CoD2 will restart and you'll be able to play as you have been before.
