« on: January 30, 2006, 03:45:00 PM »

i have a decent pc (specs below) & completed call of duty 2 on it when it was released at maximum settings, do you think its worth me buying it for the 360? i have heard some people say that it looks better on 360 than it does maxed out on a pc but i have also heard it has slowdown on the 360, im not trying to start a console vs pc debate but i need to know before i spend £50 on the game

NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX Extreme Edition

LIES

There is never slow down on the 360 version.

I guarantee the person who said that Never even touched the 360 version and is fanatical biased pc whore.

If you played COD2 on PC at max settings, then no, the 360 version does not look better.  I have a play my Xbox 360 and use my PC both on my projector, and the PC version looks a little better at 1280x720 than the 360 version at 720p.  There is no slowdown in the 360 version.  But aside from multiplayer(PC being much better), they are both the same exact game.  Not to mention, controlling with mouse & keyboard is better IMO.  COD2 is the best 360 game at the moment, but if you already played it, what's the point of paying to play it again?

That would make sense if cod 2 on 360 was anything like the cod big red one for xbox.

Totally different games.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Theese are all lies. Everything good about the game youve read is all lies! Even though it is the highest rated best selling XBOX 360 game available, DONT BELIEVE THEM! They are all trying to get you to waste $60USD!
I posted this before i read all the other posts, and after reading them i need to say that i was being sarcastic and to anybody on this thread that downplays the greatness ot COD2 for the 360, youre F%^&*ING idiots, what the hell would it take to make you happy? This game is leaps and bounds above anything youve ever seen for a console game. From what i heard the MP is weak but thats fixable. Ive played the SP campain numerous times and its Jaw Dropping, YEAH I SAID IT! Also last but not least the guy who compared it to the XBOX version(the big red one) IS DEFINATELY "SLOW"!

The 360 CoD2 looks amazing, but if you have a capable PC, it will look better.  The two main reasons are:

1) No AA in 360 version (AA eliminates jaggies)

2) No Anisotropic filtering in 360 version (keeps environmental textures resolution maxed in the distance)

That being said, even with these two filters enabled, it's hard to tell much of a difference while playing.

Plus, i enjoy playing with a controller over a keyboard and mouse (i realize you can use a controller on the pc, but there is no aim assistance like there is for console FPS).
