Yes, actually you can.  You just have to invite them before others fill up the room.

They way I do it is to tell the friend that you are starting a game.  When you start it, they simply select your name on their friends list, then click "Join game in progress"...done.

Its not that easy. By the time you go to invite your friend, the rooms always filled. Your lucky to even be able to be the host. How you suppose to invite 7 friends, go to each of their names and invite them in the amount of time before others show up? No way you will be able to.

lets face it. this game is terrible online.  i had the same complaints as well as many others,. i hope they come out with a patch but to tell you the truth its not looking like they are. i just cant believe they left out all the stuff they did.
no clans
no ranking
lag up the ass
no pregame lobbies.
its just a bad experience online making the game really boring to play becase u can only get 1-2 friends in a game with you before the room fills up.

i agree... i dont understand how they miss shit like this...there things a normal person would expect in a game, and its somthing an expert ( the designers ) should Obviously know need to be in a game... lame
