There hasn't been a new xbla game in forever.  Uno does not count.   tongue.gif

They need to get on this.
Why does Uno not count?  It cost money just like Street Fighter will.  It's fun, playable (unlike how I imagine SF2 will be on the D-pad) and available on XBLA.  I do wish SF2 was released though.  It astounds me that it is taking SOOO long when they are simply porting SF2AC over...

its not the porting thats the issue, as it will simply run on an emulator, its the online thats taking so long i imagine.
as fast of gameplay as SF II uses you have to think of how they can make it all work out with the latency ,.

i for one have yet to play any of the online incarnations of the SF games. so i dont know how well it works.

If the camera was available I could see trying it out, but card games as video games just don't cut it for me.  As for the dpad I like the 360's a lot.  Much better than original X and 10 times better than any Sony pad.

It better be 100% lag free.
There's just no point in playing a SF game over XBL if there's lag.
I loved Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, but the lag killed it for me.

I bet lag is the reason why this game is taking for ever to come out....

...no game is lag free.  Oh yes, there will be lag.

every game has lag.

I imagine it will be the same issues DOA4 experiences with lag.

The 9 frame jab of char. "X" being beaten by the 12 frame jab of char. "Y" due to X lagging by 3 or more frames compared to Y.

Or to put it another way, X is lagging by 6 frames.  So from hitting the jab attack to execute the move for damge is extended from 9 frames to 15 frames.

Y is only lagging by 2 frames, so the 12 frame jab becomes a 14 frame jab.

So char X did perform a move that in offline play would guarantee an strike, but is now the one being striked even though the strategically made the better play!

Woops, this isn't a DOA thread.  The lag impacts things like this.  Let's pretend we have a match between Chun Li and Zangief.
Match starts and Chun Li throws out a quick high punch.  Zangief throws out a medium high punch.  In offline play, Chun Li would land the punch and the damage.

Due to lag, let's pretend that Chun Li is lagging more than Zangief, so therefore his medium high punch is causing damage that would never happen in an arcade battle.  It screws up the balance so much that it is very frustrating to play competitively.

Despite soon being on my 3rd 360, if SFII works great and a TMNT Arcade game is created, I'll be a happy camper for this gen of consoles.

I didn't realize SF2AC had lag issues.  I guess netcode is really the hardest thing to get right.  I agree that lag would really hurt a game as fast as SF2.  Lag in DOA4 is half of what keeps me offline.  Although, I must admit it's a painful bliss.  I just can't stay away from the joy of beating a human being (which is few and far between laugh.gif).
