Hey guys, I must admit I do love the gameplay of some of the bigger name RPGs (fallout, elder scrolls, etc...) As they say it is limitless, I find one limit that is always drawing me away from the game. Their levelling system.
I enjoy playing a more broad but customizable levelling system. First game I ever played that kept me hooked was Gauntlet Legends for N64. where you only had 4 stat classes and you were free to dump points into them at any time you wanted, regardless of level.
I like a game where if I work hard enough at it, I can get every aspect of the game MAXED OUT(without cheats)
I hate to bring this example into this gaming world, but I must admit, it was quite addicting to me at one time... Runescape. If I felt that I was unable to defeat an opponent at any certain time, I could take a step back and level my strength or defence, depending on where it was needed, on lesser foes before I went back and anihillated my enemies.
Another would be some of the final fantasy levellign systems if you can recall.
Other than that, i've not played any games that meet that enjoyment that I am looking for.
So, this is where I ask my question.
Does anyone have any recommendations of games I should take a peek at that will fulfill my desire?
P.S. I am pre-ordering Final Fantasy 13 when it is available.
