Nascar Future (360 Game I Mean)
« on: November 08, 2009, 08:19:00 PM »

I'm going through a little withdrawl not having a new NASCAR game this year. I have mixed feelings about it. I'd like to vent a little if I may, and also ask for more info, rumors, anything you may have. Google is a little stingy with this sort of thing, but maybe someone knows something...

Anyway, how I feel...

In one way, I feel good. I'm not a big fan of EA, especially their sports games (gotta admit I love Tiger, though). I don't like how most of their games are pretty much the previous year's version with a fresh coat of paint and a roster update. That stuff can be done via DLC or some similar method. I've suggested it to them more than once but of course they think I'm an idiot. Also, not having beer sponsors in the game is just way beyond retarded. I can't see their line of thinking here...anyone who is interested in NASCAR enough to drop $60 on the game has probably watched the sport on TV before (prolly more than once even) and at that time got exposed to the god forbid beer sponsors. Stupid. Also, the EA NASCAR never has many things that you see in real races, like DNF's, blown engines, that sort of thing. It seems that every car in every race somehow finishes, despite a horrific wreck or running out of gas nowhere near the pits.

So, for those reasons, I am glad EA doesn't have the NASCAR deal anymore, and I hope that someone more responsible will pick up the contract.

But that's the thing...I keep Googling, and I have not seen anything concerning NASCAR making a new deal with someone else. So, no new game this year, most likely no new game next year, and the year after that...a deal would have to be made within the next few months in order for the new developer to have enough time to create a product worth having.

I wish Sierra were still in business, or still making games, or whatever. Their NASCAR 2003 game is excellent, very customizable, and everything a game should be. It's still played. I think that's great.

My personal wish is that 2K Sports gets the new NASCAR deal, and that right soon.

So, again...anyone hear anything they can share with me to either give me hope, or at the very least inform my not to get my hopes up?

Thanks for listening, and thanks in advance for any info.
