I loved Condemned, after missing it at release, and buying it later, kinda by 'accident', and not knowing how good it would be.

I loved condemned and thought the sequel would be just as suspenseful and fun, but... I was disappointed.

I was surprised with how BAD Perfect Dark Zero ended up being, considering I bought a 360 to play it.

Oblivion - I was never into RPGs that much and didn't have much hope for a console version being any better.

Boy was I pleasantly surprised smile.gif I was addicted within about 30 minutes of play and racked up over 220 hours so far...

Condemend really surprised me... I bought it at launch because I wanted something other than PDZ and PGR3 and it looked like the only launch day title that wasn't a Generic re-hash of blockbuster franchise.

I actually thought it looked kind of boring from the screenshots I saw before launch but there was something about the cover art and the description on the back of the box that made me buy it... and I was VERY glad I did because it ended up being one of my favorite games for the 360.

----------------

Call of Duty 2 really surprised me too... I normally don't really like FPS games... and I especially don't like WWII FPS games... but after the 4th or 5th friend came over to my house to check out my shiny new 360 and wanting to play the COD2 demo I finally caved and downloaded it...

I had played the demo in the stores and was underwhelmed... but after playing the demo at home on my projector with the home theater cranked and bombs exploding all around me I went out and got the game... played though on Veteran right from the start and loved how immersive and challenging the game was. I had a great sense of accomplishment upon finishing the game...

It was enough to get me to buy COD4 the day it came out.

------------------
Hitman Blood Money is probably my 2nd favorite game for the 360... I never liked any of the older hitman games but for some reason I decided to rent Blood Money and just loved it... I really really really want them to release another Hitman game now.

Similarly Full Auto I rented and loved... The online game play was really fun too, it was just a simple fun arcade style game... everyone else on the planet seems to hate it though.

------------------

Dead Space I was kind of excited for... because Sci-Fi and Horror are two genres I really like in games and the idea of the two together seemed interesting to me... I didn't read any previews or anything like that (I never intentionally read or look up info on games until they come out) I played the demo last week and HATED it...

Mirrors Edge I thought looked kind of dumb from the little info I knew but I kept hearing great things about it so I downloaded the demo and LOVED it... I'll probably pick it up once the price drops.

------------------

Little Big Planet looked like it would make a fun Arcade game for a few hours from the stuff I had seen of it before it came out...

I bought it for my Fiancee for xmas since she had just got a PS3 and it seemed like a game she might enjoy... seriously awesome game though. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard while playing a game... it's really an instant classic IMO... it's the Mario of this console generation.

See, Illusions..... I am not the only one.....  tongue.gif

I finally gave it a play through, but you need at least 2 complete play throughs to pick up all the achievements.  Thats an effort I am not willing to make.

I finally picked up Fallout 3..... Loving it!!
A great game from Bethesda to tide me over till the next in the Elder Scrolls saga comes out (there better be an Oblivion sequel)

Mirror's Edge was a very pleasant surprise. From the previews I thought it looked like a cool idea but it would fall apart as a game, but it seemed to be a great idea. I think it was definitely in my top 10 for 2008. Also, Amped 3 (snowboarding) was the most fun I've had on 360, if you've never played it, you can pick it up used for about $10, it has the greatest cutscenes ever.
