Halo 3 Licensing
« on: May 26, 2008, 08:06:00 PM »

I am trying to start up a local competitive Halo 3 tournament that will run bi-monthly, but am having trouble trying to straighten out game licensing. Does anyone know anything that will help me out?

I know once you get a membership here: http://www.igames.org/regions/MiniAboutVie...mp;AssetID=1190
They will give you all you need to know to get set up.

I know a few years ago you only had to pay a one time $25 fee for ANY AND ALL MS published games.

Here is a bit of info off there page.

6. Site Licenses for Games
Perhaps one of the biggest challenges facing game center owners is game licensing. The End User License Agreement (EULA) included with PC and console games usually states that the game cannot be used for commercial purposes and copyright laws protect public performance and display of copyrighted materials. Simply purchasing one game copy per machine does not make use of the game legal. You must receive a commercial license from the publisher. Currently, iGames has established game center license agreements with Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Ubisoft, Activision, and Sony Online. When your center has gone through the steps to obtain the executed site licenses from iGames you have the right to purchase retail copies of the games titles (as specified on the license agreement) from these publishers and use them at your game center. In addition to the above licenses, iGames works with other publishers to provide site licenses for special promotions on a game by game basis. Also, iGames members can receive a discount on the Valve license.

Hope that helps some.
