Assassin's Creed
Graphics: At first glance, you might not see anything that separates the two versions of Assassin's Creed visually. Both exude an impressive amount of detail in their environments and characters, along with gorgeous animations. Switching between the two on the same display, however, shows noticeably differences in the lighting and slight variations in framerate. Xbox 360 fares well under Altair's blade, boasting better lighting and a smoother performance. This isn't to say the game's a stuttering mess on PlayStation 3; on the contrary, it still looks fantastic. But you'll notice minor slowdown when moving the camera in crowded areas and the lighting isn't nearly as appealing. Overall, the Xbox 360 version just looks better.

Call of Duty 4
Graphics: You don't need night-vision or infrared goggles to see how gorgeous Call of Duty 4 runs on both systems. Infinity Ward clearly wanted both PS3 and Xbox 360 owners to have identical visual experiences. As such, neither version experiences framerate hiccups, and there's no substantive differences in visual quality. Your terrorist killing experience looks just as good on PlayStation 3 as it does on Xbox 360. Enjoy.

Devil May Cry 4
Graphics: You'll be hard-pressed to find any significant advantage to the presentation in either the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 versions of Devil May Cry 4. Even after putting on our Coke-bottle glasses we couldn't find any substantive differences in the two games. This is definitely a surprise, mainly because the game was originally a PlayStation 3 exclusive and we expected it to out-class its Xbox 360 sibling. Instead, they're identical.

Burnout Paradise
Graphics: As with the controls, you'll be hard-pressed to denote any significant graphical distinctions between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Burnout Paradise. EA Criterion has done a bang up job keeping the two games even visually. Both consoles squeeze out a fantastic 60 frames-per-second and the detailing on vehicles, buildings, and environment in general is superb.

Super pay-off report. Even as a person who owns both system and likes the ps3 for coming out of the box with most of the perks that the scene exploited on the first Xbox(linux, emulators, and media control). I can still read between the lines of that report as Payola.

This may sound like a minor thing, but I know that if I'd own both systems, I'd most likely get the 360 version of a multi platform game I was looking at. The reason? One word : Achievements.

All the games play fine on the 360 and some games don't play fine on the PS3, until all the games of the PS3 run smoothly on the platform i would say that the Xbox 360 is better.

If you ask me my opinion on this article i would say that both platforms are even.

Don't think so mate, Gameplay is most important, no-one wants to keep playing the same old shit with better graphics.

and nobody can enjoy gameplay at all with crappy images on the screen...

so, yes, both are equally important...

still doesn't take away the crap from this biased "review"

course the controller point is a valid argument, its the key component to how we play games! its built better and fits perfectly, the ps3 one though is cheaply built and slips out of my hands whenever i touch it! i cannot for the life of me get used to the ps3s controller.

Try pulling the top right shoulder button whilst using one of the bottom buttons with your thumb. Difficult if you have long hands.
Controllers depends on your hands and what you have always used.
There are components of both that I like. My main gripe against the 360 controller is the material it is made from. It becomes so sweaty and slippery quickly.
jamiem1987 you are so biased you make the article look not so bad.
360 has more quality games.
Multi plat games some look worse some look near identical on the PS3. A few look better on the PS3 but we are not talking huge amounts for games that look better on either.
As for outstanding originals. Subjective. Depends on what game style you like etc. Everyone is different. I have played GOW a lot online and i like it but if you asked me I prefer Uncharted. Different game altogether in style etc but it is my personal type of game. Doesn't make it better than GOW, just means I like it more.
Live is better on the 360 by a mile but PSN multiplayer is very good.
Game reviews are always going to be biased and this one is no different. It is wrong in many ways.
It gets the hostile reception here because of the 360 fans. If this was biased the opposite way those same people would be telling us how correct and true it was.
All of it personal opinion and personal experience. you can't choose what is best for someone else.

I see a trend here. Over the next couple years as the PS3 starts to massively overtake the 360 people will start doing the nail in the coffin thing they did with HD-DVD.

All those naive enough to think the 360 is still going to win this round of console wars raise your hands and make a note of it and letÂ’s see how you feel this time next year.

I will eventually end up with both platforms, and Chancer is right, it's the opinion and experience of the journalist that makes the article, not fanboi luvins (not entirely anyway).

If there was ever a gripe to have with an unfair magazine, it would be GameInformer. It surprises me the amount of sway they have when one system or title is selling less then desired. I truly hope everyone here knows that magazine is owned in whole by Gamestop and its parent company.

I've compared paridise side by side and to be honest it looks better on 360, it just looks better the controller is better (and always will do until sony find out that D-Pads suck) and the sound is some how clearer. COD4 was made to be on 360 in my honest opinion come on xbox is for FPS's and driving games.

It Seems sony now have some of that Blu-Ray Bribing loyalty bank account to start on the Games side now.........

First off I am no way a Sony fanboy and I love my 360.  However, sicne the death of HD-DVD I went out and bought a PS3 as it is one of the best all around Blu Ray players.  I only bought it for Blu Ray and I can say this, movies on Blu Ray via HDMI look much better then my 360 HD-DVD ever did.  I sware on it.  I am really impressed it and the PS3 is actually a very quiet unit.

Again, I love both systems for different reasons.  I own the Trifecta:  Wii, 360 and ps3 and love them all.  For High Def movies the PS3 hands down.  For games usually 360 and wii.  If a good ps3 game comes out then thats just a bonus to me as I bought it as a Blu Ray player first, game machine second.  I am sure otheres will agree with me.  This was just my two cents on an unrelated subject.  Personally each system has its strengths and weaknesses.  Can't we all just get along? tongue.gif

 I totally agree.
It seems we are all sometimes too protective of something we own. We don't like to admit it is not the greatest thing out.

That's why I bought them all biggrin.gif

I don't like the PS3 personally, and I don't think that it's better at the moment.  I'm not sure if all of it's hardware is being used right now, but whenever it does it will probably be graphically superior to the 360...but that's not the most important thing in the world.  As some others have stated, probably the reason why it takes less time to get in a CoD4 match is simply that not near as many people play the PS3 one.  I'm sure everybody remembers the days CoD4 and Halo 3 came out, gah you couldn't do anything on LIVE with it.  Now that the hype is over for each and 90% of LIVE isn't on those games, it's a lot better.  Sure they fixed some other problems with it too, but the user base is what causes problems with online services.  Another good example is when WoW released.  I never did play it, but one of my friends came over to use my PC to play it on (faster internet) and constantly got disconnected.

EDIT:
By the way, I don't like the PS3 controller either.  Just throwing that out there.
