Xla Security Issues?
« on: November 12, 2007, 09:49:00 PM »

Hey guys, haven't been on X-S for a while so sorry if this is in the wrong section but I have been wondering about the security that XLA games have lately. A friend of mine was able to copy a few purchased gamer profile avatar images to his memory card and copy them to my box where I could then use one of the ones he downloaded onto my xbox 360 so we both had it. So it got me thinking; what stops people from doing this with XLA games? For example, if I bought an arcade game, copied it to my memory card and then dumped it on his, would we both be able to them have that purchased game or is the game locked to my gamertag? I have bought Uno and a few other games and my girlfriends account and my brothers account on my 360 are able to play those arcade games just fine so what would be stopping my mate playing the arcade game that was copied onto his Xbox 360?

*confused*

Well the first thing that should stop you is that it is piracy!!

Also MS is not stupid.. the games are tied to your local box (any account on it can play the full version) and your gamertag.. (your gamertag when connected to live from any box can play it..)

If it is not one of the above two conditions it wont work.

I wasn't accusing... wink.gif  If I thought you were a pirate I wouldn't have answered the question...

im sure thats breaking your EULA somewhere.

what you are talking about isn't exactly legal, especially if the gamerpics were paid purchases.
