HMV takes MGS4 360 pre-orders - 5m after PS3 release?

Another round of Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360 rumors ...
From computerandvideogames.com:

Here we go again. The latest 'MGS4-going-multi-platform' rumour is interesting for two reasons. Mega entertainment retailer HMV is taking pre-orders for the 360 version right now and the firm even dates both version of the game.

Metal Gear Solid 4 will apparently be available from April 18, 2008 on PlayStation 3 only according to the listing. Then, just over five months later, the Xbox 360 will be blessed with Solid Snake's presence on September 26 (one year exactly after the launch of Halo 3, trivia fans).

Hope its not just a typo/error. After watching the demo video the other week I'd really like to see this game on 360  biggrin.gif . Seems strange that HMV would also have a release date when the game hasn't even been confirmed for the 360 though  blink.gif .

ROFL, whoever preorders a game 13 months before it's release is insane.

I think I had Halo 2 pre-ordered over a year but I'd never pre-order that early again. I don't even have Halo 3 pre-ordered because I'm going to wait.

its nice to see that math isn't always gone... seems to me halo 3 comes out on sept25th and therefore would conclude this theoretically comes out one year and one day later

i liked the first MSG but later versions, although graphically improved, has such slow gameplay that why would one care

there are other games coming out (halo 3, CoD4, GTAIV) that will most likely be entertaining long after MSG4 is supposedly released

GTAIV will not be out. It is delayed on the PS3 till next April. Halo games ? Overrated. Too many FPS on the 360. MGS can toggle between the 2 FPS and TPS

Gamestop (or one of those companies) is already taking orders for Starcraft 2, nearly 2 years before its going to be released.

And the only reason I would pre-order a game is for the Limited Edition, I've never heard of a new game (standard edition) that I couldn't find somewhere in my town.

I'm crossing my fingers for this one. I prefer not buying a $500-$600 console for one game, no matter how awesome it looks.

i played metal gear on the NES back in the day and enjoyed it, but since then i could not care less about the series except that it is now interesting from a business standpoint for the cross-platform sales in this "console war" issue.  i know that many now continue to enjoy the franchise and i must admit and agree that the new videos of MGS4 are impressive.

and about the halo series being overrated, that is purely an opinion (and we are all entitled to our opinions of course) since the objective truth is that the franchise has not only revolutionized a single gaming console platform but has broken numerous sales records for both Hollywood and video gaming...with even more records to create some September 2007...like it or not...

I thought you already knew I didn't rate the Halo series dry.gif
I don't if this comes across but I am speaking from a personal viewpoint. Same with the FPS. Something different is needed on all games fronts now.
I still realise the series has most 360 owners drooling. I just don't see it. But most people hate sports games and I love them.

and according to HMV, unreal tournament 3 isnt coming out on the ps3, and the 360 version is coming out on the same day as the pc version, so i think we can call HMV crap, and this rumour busted
