i think this is a far better guide, although doesnt include some of the earlier games. Think it only covers the past 10 years roughly.

IMHO, Zelda OOT was way better than A Link to the Past.  I also need to play Twilight Princess soon (Windwaker is kinda lame, and Majora's Mask sucked to me)

I like the idea that Half-Life 2 is up close to the top as that's my favorite xb1 game. Where the heck is Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. laugh.gif I played that game 20 years ago and still play it today. Emulation on the xbox is great.

Any top 100 list that leaves out the most played console game is obviously biased. How could they leave out Halo 2? 6 of the top 10 were all released by Nintendo first. I doubt that more than 1000 people contributed to this survey. Halo 2 is one of the top selling games of all time, and it didn't make the top 100= this list is bullshit.

Raise for Deus Ex

Replace Vice City with 3

Deus Ex is brilliant, my favourite single player game of all time. GTA3 is better than every GTA to date.

Zelda OOT Number 1? What is so good about Zelda!! I played Wind Waker, Majora Mask and the new Twlight Princess and to be honest they were just poor. I think Edge much prefer Nintendo games since 6 of the top 10 are in there. Resident Evil 4 was a great game and maybe just derserves 2nd but the best game of all time...Final Fantasy VII. Shame about the new one being so lame and i can't believe it rated higher than VII! what a joke.

Also why GTA:VC? GTA3 was by far the best GTA game ever. Better than the other 2 crap the games they released after.

Crap list if you ask me and i think many will agree.

What a load of bollocks.

To put Deus Ex but not UT?

To put GTA Vice City and not SA?

What a pile of bollocks

I personally enjoyed Zelda: A link to the past 100000x more then ocarnia of time..

but then again, i also was a psx boy when n64 was at its peak (never owned an N64, played that at a friends), and thuroughly loved my snes when it was in its prime
WHAT?

that game was the REASON i even bothered buying a playstation..without FFVII i woulda stuck with Nintendo

i played that game into the ground, beat it over 10 times, and now that i brought it up, im goen to dust off my psx and play it again...its THAT fun!

best storyline ever!

cant wait for the remake

The list is FF Twelve (XII) and I have to agree, why the hell is twelve there?  Replace twelve with seven and it would be a bit more accurate.  And also, I liked LttP more than OoT.  Must have played through LttP and Super Metroid at least 6 times each

Agreed, Goldeneye is still a fantastic game after all these years. I still remember the first time I played it, I was blown away.

There are some games in the top ten that I agree with but there are many greats missing.

Am I the only 360 owner that didn't like GoW?

No, I don't care for it. I still have it in case I want to finish it, but I'm not big on it at all, much like I don't care for Halo either.

I wasn't going to post, but I had to when I saw RE4 as the #2 game.  Maybe it was the fact that I didn't expect much (it had been a while since I actually liked playing a game on my GC at that point), but I was totally floored by that game.  #2 fits it perfectly.

RE4 was simply fantastic and deserves to be in the top 5. It really showed what the Gamecube was capable of when it wasn't running a cartoony game. It had Xbox 1 graphic quality easily on RE4.

I would think the #1 game would have been SMB3, I don't think anything has topped its sales yet.

Most of the top ten I consider to be, at least, very good, but, common, perfect dark should be on there (or golden-eye) as well as counter strike, starcraft, FF7, super smash bros, ac2, and the original Pokémon games, anyone agree with me?

RB6 Vegas and the first ghost recon are also extremely good, but those may be just due to my peculiar tastes.

I didn't like GOW either btw...

well you knoe ff7 had to be on there best rpg ever. zelda yea zelda for the 64 owned. ff7 should be number 1 zelda didnt get serise or movies made based soly on it like ff7 did if your going for top rpg.

I don't know about that. Without Zelda igniting the modern RPG there might not be a Final Fantasy. Zelda had a cartoon series and there was Zelda cereal laugh.gif

IPB Image

I don't think the greatness of a game can be based on merchandising though, although that NES cereal was the bomb.

exactly, this list is quite bogus - esp with the label of "Games of All Time."

it really should be classified by decades because there are obviously some big problems with the list as everybody has already mentioned...but this is how organizations get attention with these "top of..." lists, people - like it or hate it - will end up asking who or what this edge is and it is really cheap PR...kind of like viral marketing...
