Bose for example filters out 40% of the spectrum before we get to hear it.

Bose is a rich mans Idea of Hifi. The best sound is as close to pure source as is possible. Top end amps don't have any form of equalisation/filtering/Tone control at all.

To the point, high quality audio is still a viable feature for people over 25.

I never said it wasn't, indeed manufacturers would not sell much Audio equipment if HiFi was over at the age of 25, but fact is the older you get the narrower the frequency range of your hearing.

but what does the quality of one's vision have to do with refresh rates? You can be legally blind and still have naussa induced by a game with too low of a framerate. Our eyeball's refresh rate and their ability to focus are two different subjects.

I haven't experience of blind people playing console games.
The reference I was making is that some people will not see a problem in a game and some will find certain graphical aspects annoying or even unwatchable.
The point I am making is everyone has a different perception of what looks and sounds good . The sound you like with the top end cut off may not be what someone else likes so your views would differ when asked about quality. Also what is measured and quoted as huge differences often is not even noticed by your average member of the public.
