Although Nintendo's DS Observation Training is once again at number one in the Japanese sales charts, the most notable activity of the week is the appearance of both an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title in the top ten.

Bandai Namco's Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream (to be known as Eternal Sonata in the West) once again illustrates the importance of role-playing games to any future success for the Xbox 360 in Japan, with the second best performance ever for an Xbox 360 game after Mistwalker's Blue Dragon (which registered 80,348 units in its debut week).

However, with only 49,334 unit sales for Trusty Bell, compared to 64,439 for DS Observation Training, the Xbox 360's success has come during the slowest week of sales so far this year in Japan - with the lowest ranking titles in the top ten barely managing more than 15,000 unit sales.

So DS Observation training has sold 23.4% more units than Trusty Bell..

How does this reflect to the amount of DS/DS Lites there are in Japan in comparison to 360s?

Personally, this has to be seen as a major victory for MS.

No kidding.

And they're just as important for success HERE.

Stateside.

We're not all hollow-headed die-hard FPS fans. (And even those adrenalin-fueled air-brains are starting to suspect "Heyyyy, maybe you CAN have too many. Maybe I HAVE been buying approximately the same game every time. Oh snap!")

If ms keeps fucking around making its home country wait MONTHS longer for every good JRPG, they could lose us here too.

It's almost like they think the entire U.S. population consists of only shooter and sports fans. Like that's almost ALL we want here. Like we're all rednecks that don't want to read OR adventure mentally OR do anything exotic. CLUE IN, MS.

Deliver US the JRPGs too. Faster.

I can only agree with last poster, how can it take ages to port japanese games like Blue Dragon? All the gamecode, locations, maps, music, sound and so on is already made. It's reallt bad they need many months to sample speech in english and perhaps edit in some english subtitles.

Feels good to see I'm not the only one bored of all those shooters coming out, I can't believe that most games released for the 360 is simple run-and-gun games. I want new concepts, exciting games with new ideas and out of the box gameplay, not just the now so usual sequels on previous shooters (COD4, MoH:A, Halo3 and so on).

TOO RIGHT. Fucking RIDICULOUS.

Weeks? Sufferable. 8-10? Tolorable but BARELY. Borderline slothful.

MONTHS?! HALF A YEAR ?! WHAT THE FUCK.

NO EXCUSE.
