IIRC you can play this game offline, and get all the achievements offline as well.

Not only that but the achievements are fairly easy as you can get them all just be playing normally and completing the game.

EDIT:
I just ordered it... and I threw a 1600 points card on there to boost the order total above $25 for the free shipping. Points are always something I'd use eventually anyway.

if it's region free (and according to Play Asia it is) there's no reason you can't still order it... I order crap from amazon.co.uk all the time. I would suspect it's not any harder to get stuff from the USA site elsewhere.

PSU is a great game offline. The voice acting of the main character is weak at points (to the point that it distracted me), but I found it to be a solid RPG. I actually don't see what the point of playing this in an MMO form is, since you do everything in the single player mode and get points to boot.
