Xbox 1 Games Showing Up On Half The Screen
« on: April 26, 2007, 08:03:00 AM »

I ran my first xbox 1 game on the 360, Halo. It worked fine but the game covered only half of my screen. I have Viewsonic 3250w lcd tv that can do 720p and 1080i. when the game starts the tv does say it is at 720p, but it doesnt stretch to cover the entire screen, leaving big black bars on both sides.

Do you have your xbox connected to live to recieve updates (for backwards compat.)?  I recall mine doing the same thing for a little while and then it stopped.  My guess is an update fixed it.

it also depends if the game is 4:3, like Halo 1 shows up like this on my HDTV, since it's 4:3, Halo 2 is 16:9 and will fill up the screen...

Yea, the game you are playing most likely is a 4:3 game. If you want it to stretch you need to set it in you're TV settings.
