I paid $20 over 7 years ago for my PC copy of Quake III... so why would I want to pay AGAIN?

You do realize though, if they do make it, you will only be playing against other people with controllers.  Therefore, the unfairness is mostly removed in that department. I know playing Quake 3 on Xbox 1 (which pitches me against mostly keyboard/mouse users), I rarely ever get better than third place in a big game, and I am fairly good at Halo/2, so the disadvantage would probably be less defined in an XBLA verssion.

you do realize though that playing any first person shooter with a controller is not nearly as fun as on a mouse and keyboard.  none the less q3 will only work well on a pc because of weapon swapping and stuff.  having this on the 360 will be cool i guess, but combos like rocket  to rail and stuff wont be happening... which takes a lot of skill out of the game.

also, for competitive gaming it is not bringing back the good old times.  q3 was in the CPL just last year, and the CPL is far from a small tourny.

Quake 3 Arena has been on a console before... and I'm not talking about the XBox port. Anyone remember the Sega Dreamcast? It was actually quite a bit of fun!

Thank you for letting us know which type of controller is more "fun" to use... exactly what is the process for quantifying the "fun" metric of a controller? I'm a scientific guy and I'm just dying to know

All these years I've only THOUGHT I was having more fun with a game pad but I guess I was wrong... do you have a fun chart that shows the difference so I can compare?

The Dreamcast Version OWNED, I loved that game... 4 player split screen Q3A on the Dreamcast was just awesome, Sega.NET support too.

Interestingly enough... you could use a keyboard and mouse with the DC version... imagine that.

Game is gonna be sweet if it actually comes out. Hopefully they put together a decent matchmaking setup, since alot of the XBLA games lack this. And Dalzer, we get it, you don't want it, other people do, lay off the pot bro.

You do realize that there is a fine line of difference between fun and more accurate right? Obviously we all know the mouse is more accurate than a controller, I don't think anyone would argue with that. But just because its more accurate does NOT it ANY way mean its more fun. The reason I love consoles is just because no mouse/keyboard is needed. I don't know how many times I've said that now... God I love the controller..  love.gif

Thats STUPID 150mb?

I use to play Quake III back in THA day. and it was WAY MORE than 150mb... 600 atleast

Not including all the cool mods like Freeze Tag, Urban Terror, Bid For Power, Exessive

I have a PC version right next to me... so why would I want to buy it AGAIN, without MODS?

Plus it BETTER support PC - XBOX360 online gameplay because the XBOX port can.

I think PC - Console online gameplay is a horrible idea with FPS games. It is fine for FFX.

Play the Quake IV multiplayer which we already have on 360. It is almost exactly like Q3 multiplayer.
