It should work. However, it will not work on xbox LIVE since it is an off line account....

Game Achievements And Profile Question
« Reply #3 on: March 26, 2007, 02:09:00 PM »

Save games are attached to profiles, as are achievements. Achievements are part of your profile forever (as are games in your recently played list) Save games, achievements, reputation, etc. are completely 100% non-transferable.

Your save games are still good but they're only good with your profile.

either
A. get the profile moved to a Memory Unit and transfered to your xbox
or
B. upgrade the offline profile to an Xbox Live silver account... (you'll need to be logged on to Xbox live) Then perform account recovery on your new console to transfer your profile through Xbox Live... this will transfer everything but your save games.

Game Achievements And Profile Question

If all of the save games are from the same profile... yes.

For instance I have a friend lets call him "BigShow"

BigShow has an Xbox Live account on his Xbox 360 at home. He visited my house and did account recovery which disable the account at his house and enabled it on my console.

we played some gears of war and he unlocked some achievements, he also played some Saints Row and created a save game on my Xbox.

he went back home and did account recovery again which re-enabled the account on his Xbox and disabled it on mine... all his achievement are intact.

A few weeks later he did account recovery on my Xbox again and copied his save games to a memory unit (but not his profile).

he went home did account recovery again and copied the save games from the memory unit to his hard drive and was able to play them fine.

---

When your profile is attached to Xbox Live it's stored online and updated whenever the console is connected to the internet. each profile or XBL account has an ID number. Save games essentially know the ID number they belong to and will only work for that ID number... it doesn't matter where they came from or what type of profile it is as long as the ID numbers match the save game will work for you.
