The Mistwalker boss told Gamespot: "I feel that the Final Fantasy series should come to Xbox 360 as well. This is wise. It makes so much sense to me...it has so much potential in North America and in Europe. So there's a great chance for the series to succeed on 360 as well."
Continuing the chat Sakaguchi-san suggested that Square Enix could port its upcoming PS3 instalment Final Fantasy XIII to 360 fairly simply, because "they made the White Engine open platform".

Has Squeenix ever said they would not entertain the idea of Final Fantasy on the Xbox?

As far as I can tell, they've already released FF XI on the 360 (as mentioned in the incredibly brief article), and they're busy moving some of their FF titles to the Nintendo DS. Okay, that doesn't exactly make a clear announcement, but it should be clear to anybody that they're not completely stuck in the Sony camp.

The business argument would likely be that they'd need to see more 360 sales in Japan before investing the effort and manpower into converting these new and larger games.

I read an article recently about the problem with some Japanese game makers and them not wanting to really appeal to the non-japanese market. Not a wise business decision if they made that their argument.

if they bring Final Fantasy XIII to the xbox 360, it would be big trouble for the ps3...all they would have left thats notable is just The Metal Gear Solid series...

If they did this then I would have no need to ever buy a ps3 cuz that's the only series I was going to buy one for.

Definitely would be amazing, but I don't see it happening. Sony would put up a hell of a fight for this one. To bad Sakaguchi isn't part of Squeenix anymore

heh... they already have FFXI and that one you have to download to the HDD to play... FFXIII will proboly go smooothly with the new harddrives for the 360 coming soon (120gb) if they were to use the same installation.

Also the PS3 will finally be ripped to shreds and then pissed on by Mr.Gates

ff 13 xbox 360. sony better just keep making ps2 games if this happons couse the ps3 will go the way of the sega saturn. i would say dreamcast but the the dreamcast was well a good system sega just ran out of money it wasent couse the dreamcast did bad but the saturn was a majer flop.

An anouncement from squareenix that FF was coming to the xbox would make my day. At least this generation the xbox has a few jap rpgs like blue dragon, lost odessey and eternal sonata.
