Gears is fantastic on co-op, especially on harder difficulties.

perfect dark zero has co-op,

kameo too, i can't think of anymore right now.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance has the type of co-op you're talking about. Everyone shares the same screen.

And I second Gears of War for awesomeness in co-op.

rainbow six has split screen, both t-hunt and co-op story I believe....

eragon has co-op, thats about all it has, but it is very similar to lord of the rings.... made by the same house I think.....

Fusion Frenzy 2 is up to 4 players on one screen at a time. There are also Arcade games that have 2 player co-op. Cloning Clyde was good and so is the newly released TMNT is 4 players on one screen at once too. I think there are other's, but I don't recall off the top of my head.

Dead or Alive 4 you can do tag team on the same team, probably rumble roses and WWE, but I haven't played them so I'm not sure

Monster Madness definitly will allow for that sort of thing but it isn't out yet (arrives spring 2007 so... soon)

other Co-Op XBLA games Are Guantlet, SmashTV, Contra, I think maybe Cloning Clyde but I'm not sure

Kameo is probably your best bet, it's a fantastic game and you can probably get it for about $20 new at this point... Also I'm not sure if they're BC but the Hunter games for Xbox 1 are really really fun and allow co-op with up to 4 players.

I'll recommend Gears of War (Best Co-op game i've ever played) and Marvel Ultimate Alliance is pretty good.

yeah yeah bumpin an old thread =) , but these co-op threads pop up often. i was gona add in that The Outfit has some really fun split screen co-op as well. (very underrated game!) me and my buddy have a blast playing it. assault heroes on the arccade has some pretty decent co-op as well, for its cheap price.

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE!! It's cheap! Fun! And everything is huge! CO-OP really is the best. It makes the game fun (errr)!

the demo really doesnt do the single player any justice. earth defense force is pretty fun too haha. if you can look past some of the cheasy 2d sprites some of the bosses are actually pretty damn cool looking.
