I love halo because of the dancing. I've never played any other FPS where you can dance so crazy on a corpse. It's sorta like Bungie WANTS you to taunt ppl.

i think this one got sucked into the halo whirlpool....

Yep, and proud of it. Because not only is it a well made FPS, it also brings a lot of fun to a bunch of guys playing against each other. I've played Halo on a competitive level (going to actual tournaments), to competitively playing against ppl online, to playing on 2 televisions with 10+ ppl in one room. All in all, it's a great, all around fun game, and anyone who's beat it on legendary WILL say the same.

And to clear something up, you have to be a hardcore nerd to read those novels, THEY ARE BASED ON A VIDEO GAME. All they are for is making money, they are not serious literature.

While I've never read those novels and I'm the last person who should be commenting on literature, my brother is currently a Jr in college studying literature and journalism. He's not a gamer and FAR FAR from a nerd... he's read all of the Halo novels and claims they're some of the best fictional works in publication today...  rolleyes.gif

i have never read them myself, but i know a few people who have. and from what i have heard, they are good reads. but they do get dissed because they are based around a game that (around here anyway), doesnt enjoy a massively good reputation

Halo is great. Some of you may not like it, but you are entitled to your own opinion. Like someone stated earlier, it is NOT a military shooter, so comparing it to those them isn't really fair. As for the books, I have read two, and I'll admit, the reason that I even picked one up is because of the game. However, the if there were no Halo game, the books could still exist. They are written very well, and enjoyable to read.

No one disses the halo books, I read the trilogy, and I am not a nerd, and these books are the best books I read in ages. There is some vocabulary words in that book that puzzles you for a long time....

i have the 3 first books, but so far ive only read the fall of reach, but it was amazing. i defo plan on reading the other 2 and buying the others i dont have.

If they based th emovie on the fall of reach then that would be one of the best movies ever.

uhh.gif You crack me up, first its the most overrated piece of garbage ever, then your still gonna shell out $60 for it? Make up your mind, and Super Mario World is trash, unless you are 7, sorry.

I have only read ghost of onyx, it was very decent though no where near great even for a fiction piece. There were at least 30 typos that instantly destroy any immersion into the story. Also on some of the covenant part of the stories they use covenant words but I found one and in the very next line they spelt it wrong. Giving the reader the obviousness of "making shit up." story wise it was good maybe i need to read the others. But I have real books worth reading right now

well thats number 4. i recommend reading the fall of reach.

im not a reader, by any means, the mere fact that a book holds me long enough for me to finish is a phenomenal feat, so as far as im concerned they are great books.
