I don't get this strategy at all.  Microsoft is essentially owning the console industry here in America at least, but giving those with computers no reason to buy a 360 at all.  Is their goal just to sell live subscriptions?
No... it's to sell Vista too. And it's new gaming capabilities is one of MS selling points.

I really think it is a bad idea for M$ to put the same games on both pc and 360. Hell then why would someone buy a 360? I think M$ will lose customers with that plan. Bad idea to me.

I would want to buy a 360 any day over a pc.. Reason...  I hate playing games on computers. Well, 360 really is a computer but what I mean is I hate that damn mouse/keyboard! plus all the upgrading you have to deal with.. ugh.. talk about nightmare.. Go 360 go!

Same games out at the same time!!! ha!! I bet us 360 owners still get screwed cause everyone knows the pc versions are gonna be cheaper and have free content and better patches and controls!!

First I was going to agree with you, but then I thought about it...

400 points to download a patch off live...

3 - 5 patches per game over it's "lifespan"...

that's an extra 20 bucks coming to MS!

From the wording and knowing MS they are not allowing PC gamers to play against Xbox360 gamers unless they allow the use of the 360 controller only(Vista could do that).

With the games they really are more of a PC Port of Xbox 360 games if anything. The money is now in console games so many PC games are currently put on hold. The PC port of games are usually pretty crappy, but with XNA they don't need to do much work to put out a game on PC and increase sales.

Notice the wording about Live features? Really Live is just going to be another STEAM or MPlayer or MS Gaming Zone. Included will most likely be all the chat/IM/pictures/etc so that you can keep in contact with your gaming buddies.

MS always words things so that you think they will include certain features into their products. Halo 2 is a good example of how they talked about Coop and Online play. They did say there was going to be Coop. They did say there was going to be Online Play. Everyone thought there was going to be Online Coop, but they never put it in.

PC owners of Shadowrun will be able to use Mouse/KB while playing 360 gamers using controllers. Several sites in just the past few days have fiddled with Vista and had matches online against 360 gamers and gave reviews.
