December '06 Back Compat Update Officially Released

Microsoft leaked a part of the list early, but now it's official out there ... the December 2006 Backward Compatibility Update. From majornelson.com:

Just in time for the holidays and now with Psychonauts! The backwards compatibility update is now available over Xbox Live. This free update brings the complete list of original Xbox games that you can play on your Xbox 360 to over 300. Remember, your original Xbox games will look better than ever on Xbox 360 running in 720p and 1080i with anti-aliasing. You can also play cross-platform between Xbox 360 and the original Xbox over Xbox Live.

But why is Rallisport 2 being forgotten?

A ton of great games in that release!

I sure hope M$ takes care of the rest of the games you wanna see BC for. Seems like they are slowing down the rollout, but getting a bunch of games in each release.

Same here. But I think it has to do with the game itself. No doubt Rallisport is one of the best looking games on the Xbox 1 and it may be hard for them to properly emulate it. Hopefully it will be compatible some day but I am beginning to believe it will never happen.

My 360 is finally my favorite system for gaming now that Conker is playable. Still tired from moving but this puts me in a great mood.

AMAZING! I have conker again. That made this entire update for me! If I can get one game that I currently own on an update it will make it for me.

Still left for me is Phantom Dust, DOOM3 ROE, and unreal champ. Then all my xbox live game will be BC. YAY!

Any reason why neither of the MechAssault games are excluded? Microsoft Studios wrote these games so
I wonder if they did some tricks or optimizations directly to the XBox hardware that cannot be easily emulated.

? i could have swore that one is playable! or maybe its the first one? if it is just disregard my stupidity!
