Installing Hd On Modded Box
« on: September 10, 2004, 09:51:00 PM »

I was trying a softmod and ended up wiping out my hard drive. I had backed up the entire hard drive before the crash but I didn’t realize I needed to make a backup of the system files so I don’t have eeprom.bin etc. I have ordered a mod chip and I was wondering if I will be able to put in a new drive with out the system file info. I’m sure the mother board and the eeprom are fine. Can anyone tell me how (or direct me to a tutorial) to install a hard drive on a modded box without the system files?

Thanks

All you have to do is boot up from the mod chip (make sure it's flashed with a bios like x2).

stick in your new hd

boot up slayers evox installer 2.6

select format large hd and it'll format that hd to an xbox and copy all the files for you.

if you have a chip it will allow you to boot up without a locked hd and boot any unsigned code.

Thanks dude. I'm new to all this but I'm having a ball figuring it out. I don't even play xbox games but my three boys are crazy for it. They each have their own box and I would like to be able to have them load the games from the server in my office.

Thanks

Mark

Is it possible to stream games over the network to the xbox then?

Because that would be cool!

I'm not sure, but I don't think it's possible.

It would be very useful though.

It's not possible to stream Xbox games. The games must either be run from disc, or from the HDD.

There are a few emulator programs that will allow you to use roms from over a network, but that's pretty much it.

Q: Can I stream games/apps over a network to my xbox?

A: NO, there is no way to do this, and most likely never will be.
