Small Arms "six Degrees Of Small Arms" Achievement
« on: November 22, 2006, 04:39:00 AM »

As they always say:
"Its better to give than to receive."

The only way to get the "Six Degrees of Small Arms" achievement in Small Arms is to play someone that already has this achievement.

So if you purchased Small Arms and do not have this achievement, send me a message via Xbox Live and we'll play some multiplayer. My Xbox Live Gamertag is lightsup55.

now I KNOW this game isn't out yet (unless it came out this morning)

I love to get myself that achievement... when the game comes out  smile.gif

I've added Small Arms to the list of game forums that need to be added, for the time being though I'm moving this to the general games section, where I'm sure it will grab a lot more interest beerchug.gif

EDIT: ok, I guess it DID come out this morning laugh.gif

I'm confused by this. How did the first person to get the achievement get it? Cause someone had to get it first, right?

The developer has some way of giving themselves the achievement before the game gets released. When the game is released, the developer gets on Xbox Live with that Gamertag and plays some multiplayer. Anyone who joins that game and plays all the way through (i.e. without quiting) winning or losing, they get the achievement.

Of course, those players then play some more multiplayer and the achievement is given to other players. And it continues to spread like pink eye or the common cold.

Played it this morning and got the achievement with a developer which is only 0 points.

At the same time it's cool but it's not since it adds nothing to my gamerscore

heh I just played online and got it at the end of my first match.

Even if it is only 0 points it's still a freaking cool idea for an achievement, IIRC Tony Hawk Project 8 has the same type of achievement. where you have to beat a developer, or beat someone who has beaten a developer, etc.

Yeah, I only played about one match, but it seems really fun, I think I'll buy it.  I think it is worth it.

Smash Brothers but without Mario.

It really is nothing like SSB... it's about as similar as DOA is to Mortal Kombat... That is to say they're the same genre but beyond that the games are nothing alike.

Smash Bros is nearly all hand to hand combat SA is nearly all projectile combat.

So if you consider swinging a sword to be about the same as firing a gun then yeah maybe you'd consider them the same thing.

I really enjoy SA so far, the controls are straight forward and easy to pick up, there's no complex maneuvers to learn and the levels are simple enough that even first time players will be comfortable.

I'm mostly excited though because now there's a 4 player game that I can play when I have friends over, none of them have to be very familiar with it, and it's only $10... you can't go wrong.

If it came on a disc with a case and a manual I'd easily pay $20 or $30 for this game based it's local multiplayer merits alone.
