All Multiplatform Titles Score Higher On 360 Vs Ps3

while some will argue that reviews are nothing more then an opinion, i pay attention to very few parts of reviews: the facts.  framerate problems are a fact not an opinion.....

Tiger Woods PGA tour 07

-PS3: 8.3

-Xbox 360: 8.5

Need For Speed Carbon

-PS3: 7.9

-Xbox 360: 8.2

Call of Duty 3

PS3: 8.2

Xbox 360: 8.8

NHL 2K7

-PS3: 8.6

-Xbox 360: 8.9

Tony Hawk Project 8

-PS3 7.0

-Xbox 360 7.8

Not really that important, but ign didnt rate all multiplatform games higher on the 360. Unless you count the AU score.

NBA 2K7

PS3 8.5

360 8.3

QUOTE
As far as the visuals are concerned, there are a couple of improvements that have been made, mostly in the texturing of the stadiums and the character models. The reflective polish of the hardwood looks much brighter than it did before, and even some replays of in-game action retains a much sharper focus that on other consoles...Character models have definitely received a bump in their texturing, particularly with the cloth physics of uniforms, which move a bit more realistically. Facially, you'll probably pick up on some sharper details as well.

Maybe they just hold PS3 to a higher standard at first.  That tends to happen with new consoles, they don't want to give games too high a score or else if a game that comes out that really is great, they don't want to give the new great game the same score as a launch title that wasn't nearly as good.

That and they don't even use the same reviewer for different consoles on those sites(i think), so possibly the reviewer for 360 liked those games better than the reviewer for PS3 like them.

ARE YOU FN SERIOUS!? Live 07 has been called the worst/buggiest b-ball game in history. Nba 2k7 has been called the best/most realistic b-ball game in history. There is so much of a quality difference I'm convinced you got the names backwards. It just isn't possible that you can say live is better, you have to be in the deepest levels of denial to say that.

On gamespot, both the 360 and ps3 NBA 2K7 recieved 8.2.

QUOTE
NBA 2K7 is one of the few PS3 launch games that supports 1080p. The game looks nice in "true HD," but you're more likely to notice the aliasing around players' bodies, as well as blurry names and numbers on their jerseys. All of this extra resolution comes at the expense of the frame rate, though even in 720p, the action gets choppy. The frame rate's not too bad when you're playing from the default camera angle, but it isn't as smooth as on the Xbox 360. The frame rate really becomes erratic if you play using the baseline camera. It's not all bad news--there seems to be less clipping in the PlayStation 3 version.

thank you foe-hammer.  i got the scores from both IGN and gamespot.  also if im not mistaken, mikedavis, wasnt NBA 2k7 released a while ago for the 360?  im not sure havent really kept up but with the games i posted i tried to keep it rather fair using games that have been released on both consoles at the same time not allowing more time of development (improvements) to either console.

also i dont think the whole "developers need to learn Cell chip still" arguement holds much water.  by developers comments most, not all i know, got Cell equiped ps3 dev kits 2 months before E305.  if over a year and a half of working and learning hardware does not allow you to run games that a "weaker" system does with fewer frame problems, there is something wrong there.  going from a slower Cell chip and nVidia card (carries similar architecture) to the ps3 seems easier and more seemless then going from two single threaded G5s and an older ATI with dedicated shader units to a 3 core/six threaded CPU and a ATI GPU that is entirely different architecture (unified shaders, eDRAM).

IGN just added the ps3 review of COD3.

IGN COD3
PS3 7.8
360 8.8

Gamespot COD3
PS3 8.2
360 8.8

Both say the framerate sucks and looks washed out compared to the 360. Although They did compliment the PS3 particle effects.

QUOTE
360 has a point system and voice support, PS3 doesn't), or the visuals (Xbox moves at a smoother framerate with few hitches, while the PS3 version stutters often and boasts a more "washed out" color palette).

from PS3 review
QUOTE
In the 10 hours we spent with the single-player campaign, we had to restart a checkpoint five to six times because certain flags wouldn't activate (i.e., doors that were supposed to open didn't, walls that were supposed to break wouldn't, and characters that were supposed to die couldn't).

im thinking the frame rate problems have to do with the way the ps3 handles HD resolutions
