I love EA.  They have made great games.
If they are smart enough to figure out that people will pay for unlockable content,
then my hat is off to them.

So are all of you who talk crap (about boycotting EA) really going to stop playing EA games?
I'll bet 10 to 1 that 99.5% of the people who talk this crap still go out to the
video store and either rent and/or buy the game.  Maybe not this game, but some EA games.

I'm not talking all of them, but EA puts out a bunch of good games.  If you plan on not playing
a game because it sports the EA logo on it, you are a poor excuse for a gamer and really should
just stop looking for excuses to whine about something and start enjoying life.
Why would you want to wish 'badness' on a company that is supplying us entertainment through
video games?  You want to take away other people's enjoyment just because you don't like
a marketing angle?  I don't like the fact that McDonalds only offers McRibs once or twice during
the year.  I'd rather see it on the pemament menu.  But am I trying to destroy the company
just because I don't get my way?  I like other McDonlds food and it would be stupid for me to
attack them and try to run them out of business.

Just like the guys that bottled up water and sold it.  We all complain about it, that it is the lamest thing
in the world... yet every day we see tons of people walking around with bottles of water.
Stupid idea, yes.  Do people still want it, yes.  Would I want to be the guy that came up with this?
"hell ya".

I don't get what the big gripe is about EA.  They are out to make money and stay in business.
Making money off downloadable/unlockable content is not that bad of an idea.  They are just including
the data on the DVDs instead of pushing it out over the 'net.

Some people around here just talk out of their rear ends sometimes.

And you really have reason to make that claim after being registered here for less than two weeks.   laugh.gif

Im not buying their stuff because of advertising they are starting in games.  I get enough of that on tv.

Charging for the rest of the game is just another offense.

I like "some" ea games....I don't mind buying DLC if I think it's worth the 1 or 2$ or whatever it is...I have a problem with being charged for something that's already on the disc that I already bought...you guys that support ea in this like using analogies, what if fast food places started charging you for ketchup, napkins, the wrapping over the burger, whatever, and it ended up nearly costing the price of another burger...now maybe you don't need a napkin, sure you can lick your fingers and wipe em on your jeans....but it was never like that, and shouldn't be....like with codes...I think it'll suck for people that'll buy this stuff, and wouldn't mind unlocking it on their own, but wouldn't cuz they don't know any better...not everybody keeps up on this stuff the way we do....it bugs me cuz I like the NFS games, but there's better games comin, and I'll probably pick this up when it gets cheap minus the DLC jips tongue.gif

EA is like buying french fries, and only being able to eat one. Every additional one requires $10 worth of "french fry bucks"

I have no problem with this if everything can be unlocked by playing through the game, minus the collector's edition. I am surprised the selling of cheats hasnt happened sooner. I wont be buying any of them, but to each his own.

it's a very wise decision on EA's side...pay or play for the extras, your choice. either way, stop complaining.

someone mentioned that EA say "Many of the items in this bundle can be achieved without purchase by progressing through Career, Challenge Series and Reward Card."
"Many" as in "not all". So each package seems to have stuff that is NOT achievable by just playing the game.

I spend much of last week commenting on this...and I'll talk more about how I feel on my show this week.

Also, I *JUST* got off a plane from the east coast, so it will take me a while to catch up on all the comments that were posted since I have been offline, so pardon me of I was not able to comment on this.

It's still unclear to me: *IS* this content available on other platforms within the games? If so, then no..I am not happy about this. I need to do more digging on this, but I have sent off some rather terse emails to some folks to get to the bottom of this. I am also not happy about you guys not being happy.

I buy a game cause it is fun.  I dont hardly spend any money on MS points (maybe $25 since I've had my xbox360) and I would buy any game if it were fun.  Just becasue you cant drive as a few cars you say it's incomplete?  Thats too bad.  You are missing out.  (Maybe not on this game, cause gameplay is pretty bad -
but others...)

... hahah  laugh.gif   I was just waiting for someone to reply with a childish remark about how long I've been a member.
I've been posting here for a LONG time as dgrams2003, but had to quickly make a new account the other day as my password retrieval wasn't working and I didn't want to wait to post something.
People are so immature when they use this as an excuse to strike back at someone.
Yes, you are a better person than anyone that has not been a member as long as you.
Keep thinking that.

So u have 2 accounts? Nice, hopefully we wont hear from u anymore

..at least not in this thread anymore. I put my 2 cents in and don't want to
turn the thread into a mud-slinging fight.

Feel free to resume the EA bashing.

EA is a company. EA makes money through consumers. You are a consumer. Your goal is to spend money wisely through power of choice. Please exercise your power of choice

Thank you

Yes i was prompted for the update  I did not however.
Back Ot
I Have no problem what so ever with the way ea is selling this stuff, it has to make money somehow, So now Pirates cant have everything for free. For those who dont pirate games well we have to suffer but thats life.

So they're not making money off of you buying the game?.....this has nothing to do with piracy, this has to do with screwin the gamer who thought 60bux on it was enough....we just don't want something like this to become a regular thing from other publishers.

Isn't that what they are doing now? I mean you did pay for the game rolleyes.gif

Come to think of it, if they charged $50 for the game and then $10 for High Res textures then we would probably better off, now wouldn't we?

Those without hi res didnt have to pay too much for stuff that don't benefit.

I don't really get how that was funny, but whatever.....

I dont complain about stuff like this probably because.........I dont buy 'em, im not stupid.
